if he can win them champions league then yes.

Shame to lose him from the Premier League. Think Tottenham need to keep him if they want to be in the CL. Hugh amount of money coming into the club though. Would need to spend it VERY wisely for it to be a good decision to sell him.

teams pretty fucking good atm i rkn. CL material provided no choke with Soldado and Paulinho in

If Bale is the difference between Real Madrid getting KO'd before the final and winning it then potentially. If they sell Ronaldo potentially not

We have really decent depth through the midfield. Just need a bit more up front and maybe more cover at the back. Fucks me why we sold Caulker, Kaboul is MIA, injury plagued cunt.

    Sneaky namedrop in the background.

I'd easily take 100m for Bale. Think about what you could buy for 100m.

Prez, find me someone who wouldn't take that much for Bale. If Ronaldo was worth less when RM signed him, there's obviously no way in hell Bale's worth that. But if they have the money to do it...

    I reckon I'd buy a new car

  12. Uppercut CB Faldo

Well if they sold Ronaldo now they'd probably get just as much for him, that tells you he was underpriced.

Players the Gerrard really are the ultimate club men. People like him, Scholes, Giggs etc.

It's incredible and is a fantastic representation of his personality I think. He loves the club so much he can't leave. When he eventually does, it'll be the biggest blow to Liverpool, certainly in my living memory, but I imagine in a lot longer than that.

  16. PienaarColada DH Mulray

Would have left for Chelsea years ago if it wasn't for outside influences.

  17. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

Or the market has massively inflated...

  18. loganb JEM Logan

Yeah, but at the end of the day, it was still his decision.

  19. PienaarColada DH Mulray

I don't think he had any other choice to stay after what he went through.

But the fact that the market massively inflated soon after they bought him tells you he was underpriced.

They'll probably recoup a lot of the Bale money if they were to sell in three years and they make more from marketing than anyone else because they get half of each player's image rights. Buying all of the world's most exciting players for ridiculous prices has been a huge success from a financial perspective so they won't really be worried too much about overpaying. These transfers don't quite pay for themselves but honestly they're really not far off. If anyone cares here's a really long article summarising how.

The problem for Madrid is that from a footballing perspective they've done much worse than they would have wanted for the past ten, fifteen years. So the more important question is whether Bale will change that. I probably rate him higher than anyone here and I'm still not too sure that he will. I don't think individual players are as important as they seem. It's not like on Fifa where you find out how good a team is by adding up how good all their players are. They already had miles better players than Dortmund last season and still went out to them, what difference will having even better players make? They need to find a system that gets the best out of their players and since Mourinho didn't quite manage it I can't see a much worse manager pulling it off.

Cliffs: Bale not as bad a signing as he seems from a financial perspective, not as good a signing as he seems from a football perspective.
