The New South Wales CricSim Board would like to announce the following squad for the three-match Origin series against Queensland in Season 8. Whilst it is possible for players not in the original squad to feature, only unforeseen circumstances would see such a thing occur.

The squad is being named to put players on notice for their remaining four First Class appearances before the series in an attempt to give them extra incentive to perform. New South Wales Second XI will also play one game against Great Britain during the series and the majority of that team is also likely to come from this preliminary squad.

    Squad:

    Daniel Speirs (c) (Sticky Wickets)
    Dave Armstrong (Pumas)
    Ted Bullpitt (Crusaders)
    Rob Cribb (Ravens)
    Dave Crowley (Ravens)
    Tom Delonge (Vipers)
    Jack Dempsey (Cyclones)
    Hache Emm (Cyclones)
    Scott Flack (Pumas)
    Kelvin Fung (Stingrays)
    Juan Gonzalez (Cyclones)
    Sam Green (Cyclones)
    Matt Hayes (Crusaders)
    Ben Herd (Pumas)
    Matt Johns (Cyclones)
    Chris Kovas (Crusaders)
    Duck Lewis (Ravens)
    Alex O'Driscoll (Crusaders)
    Alan Parker (Sticky Wickets)
    Hugh Roberts (Crusaders)
    Nathan Spinks (Sticky Wickets)
    John Thornton (Sticky Wickets)
    Luke Tyson (Stingrays)
    John Wilkinson (Pumas)
    Scott Wilson (Cyclones)

We've lost a lot of our batting depth in the last few seasons with Victoria, NZ and GB taking players off us.

Borisc has actually played for NSW and was a regular in our Second XI, Erschoff has played for NSW Second XI, Short has played for NSW, Olsen has played for NSW, Hornby would be in this squad if he hadn't run off to GB.. etc etc.

I'm reasonably happy with where our bowling stands at the moment, but I've just named Hughie from the Knights ALC side in our top 25 due to our lack of batting depth so it's a little bit of a concern. The other options for his spot were Burridge, Berkuta, Kobain and Mojo.

    Clones with 6..they own

Is there a chance I could make NSW 2nd XI?

You'd need to be playing firsts to do that.

    Who are the selectors?

Dissapointing that no Lions made it.

Cribb is obviously the selector. Why do you think so many Ravens made it

  19. Bender BG Herd

    Pumas scored 4 iirc.

I think the whole Alex issue is being avoided. He already played for QLD in like 8 matches...Unless there is something I'm seriously not getting. <.<
