Yeah I don't get why he went for Deonarine the round after he went Anderson. At least Anderson has a lot of potential IMO (though he's still too early AFAIC).
Deonarine seemed like a worse pick at the time but given how much the spin depth dried up he's not all that bad. There are probably going to be a lot of pitches where going in with four seamers and a top seven batsman who bowls useful spin will be a decent option and that's where Deonarine will come in handy. Still went too early, still didn't suit his needs once he'd taken Anderson and Faulkner but he'll have decent utility as a player in this competition overall IMO.

Yeah I'd say thats pretty much spot on with where I felt people draft overall. Still think Eds has the best team though so it'll work differently for best XI style ratings.
Yeah, it's important not to confuse Athlai's squad depth rating with a rating of how he thinks the team will go. Depth is more about the backups than anything.
