Cheers, was hoping he would be medium so I could get a little more advantage in pushing that assistance up.
Tell him to bowl slower. Medium-fast relies on medium assistance a lot more than fast assistance anyway tbf.
Rusty Best Pick: Chris Rogers - I think Rogers going when he did started a bit of a mad dash for openers as I'm certain a fair few people had him lined up as their first choice opener after neglecting the position in the first 2 rounds. Worst Pick: Heino Kuhn - Now this is a fairly interesting one and I have chosen Heino as he indicative with what I feel is at fault with this team. Heino was a pretty good pick in the last CPL, but in this one he has been in pretty poor form for some time now. There seem to be a lot of guys in this team either out of form or are guys who have just never really been all that good. Heino probably should've been picked in this draft, but not in round 9. I feel similar about Tremlett and Joyce too and when your lower depth isn't good having iffy early round picks is an absolute killer. Overall Squad Depth: C- I really think this team is going to struggle a lot. I think there are a couple first XI picks that should have only went in the later rounds in the draft and a few guys you picked in the later rounds that shouldn't have gone at all. Younis Khan Chris Tremlett Chris Rogers Keith Barker Ed Joyce Tim Murtagh Chris Lynn Dillon du Preez Heino Kuhn Dilruwan Perera Gayan Maneeshan Justin Kemp Joe Mennie Alex Lees David Wiese Imraan Khan Cameron Gannon Fawad Ahmed
Goat Best Pick: Alan Richardson - I think A Richardson and C Alexander were both fairly decent picks when they went. So kudos. Either that or Ian Bell solely for this please more of this Worst Pick: Tharindu Kaushal - I don't really rate Kaushal as one of the best SL spinners out and the fact you already have Ojha means that unless you intended to go spin at home that this was far too soon. Overall Squad Depth: C You've got a few genuine options in the wider squad which salvages this team in my eyes. I think the first 7 picks were some of the weakest in the draft but overall this team should be somewhat competitive with a few options when creating your attack. Ian Bell Pragyan Ojha Graham Onions Nick Compton Dean Elgar Stiaan van Zyl Steven Patterson Craig Kieswetter Cameron White Craig Alexander Alan Richardson Tharindu Kaushal Colin Ingram James Tomlinson Gayan Sirisoma Rudi Second Chris Dent Matthew Hoggard
Julian Best Pick: Ravindra Jadeja - Without Jadeja I think Julian's team would be a fairly average one, but he is probably the most valuable allrounder in FC cricket right now. Julian has managed to build a pretty solid team around him too. Worst Pick: Sohail Tanvir - Tanvir is by no means a poor player but he definitely shouldn't be going in round 7 and it was a misstep by Julian to pick him up so soon. Also stealing Avengers before they should really be going is the worst. Overall Squad Depth: B I think Julian lacks a little depth in his pace bowling but has a pretty strong overall squad. Definitely a team that could make the top 8 if some players have good form. Could be another of the teams that benefits by going spin at home. Graeme Smith Ravindra Jadeja Chris Woakes Luke Butterworth Umar Akmal Phil Jaques Sohail Tanvir Shoaib Malik Suraj Randiv Darren Sammy Gary Putland Vaughan Van Jaarsveldt Dinesh Karthik Dean Brownlie Anamul Haque Colin de Grandhomme Faiz Fazal Rory Burns
Yeah Tharindu Kaushal is a gun He's not like the typical sri lankan spinner who just puts it there conventionally with a bit of drop and a bit of rip, he's more like a better version of Suraj Randiv, kinda approaching Nathan Lyon territory. Gets unreal overspin. Unreal. And has the best doosra going round. He's not a vanilla spinner, and as a result he'll get wickets at any level IMO.
Phlegm Least Terrible Pick: Jimmy Neesham - So you picked Neesham seemingly a round or two early. And then the bastard slaps a Test hundred on debut. A massive pick up considering how strong you already were in the bowling allrounder department. Neesham adds a lot of depth to the batting and is a very handy 4th seamer. Worst Pick: Adam Milne - You have a fairly injury prone attack so you choose to pick effectively the worst option possible to fix this? An injury prone player who has done so little in actual cricket that he is unplayable? Kudos. You could have picked virtually any other seamer in the country and done well. NZ seamers were one of the most underutlised resources later on, but wow. You managed to find a shit one. Overall Squad Depth: B You have a lot of quality allrounders in this team which helps your depth a lot. That said you'll need your depth because about half of your team will be injured at any given time. Taylor may also miss a game or two if another baby is due. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/blpe_sGnnP4?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Ross Taylor Kemar Roach Graeme Swann Ryan McLaren Bradley-John Watling Rahul Dravid Hardus Viljoen Dimuth Karunaratne Lahiru Thirimanne Mathew Sinclair Marcus Trescothick Chaminda Vaas Stuart Meaker Jimmy Neesham Sohag Gazi Greg Hay Gareth Hopkins Adam Milne
I was this close to picking Mark Gillespie in the last round. Gets far and away the most domestic wickets in NZ but seems to get tonked around while doing so.
