The Lions' shirt looks so lame this year:

Last years was so much better:

It's good how they've got the WRFU logo on now but everything looks so cramped. Not a fan of that collar design either, don't know why Scotland, South Africa have it either. Looks awful.

I suppose it'll grow on me.

    Way better this year.

I guess like I say, it'll grow on me.

Just a reminder of the post by the Man himself earlier in the year, alluding to him being around for another season.

    Lavea retiring?

Shit, Jesse Mac going to Hawkes Bay.

Also, Tasman smashed Otago a couple days ago. Good couple warm-up matches so far.

    Yeah saw that. 42-22.

Otago is pretty much screwed this season, even being in the Championship.

A brochure thing was in the Dompost yesterday which sort of had a run down of each team. For Wellington it ended like this and I quote "Will be interesting to see how the team goes but they are unlikely to push for a final's spot"

    I was like bitch, please.

We have a fucking awesome backline and as some key players get back from injury we should play some bloody exciting rugby like we always do.

Somerset with a bit of encouragement may run a tipping pool for us if you don't already have one planned heef. I find in the first round of it every year I come last as I don't know enough about all the names on the "in" list for each province. I usually have to fight my way back into the pack in later rounds.

Great to see T-Pole back. A few interesting signings in there - the two Japanese for Otago, the Kenyan-Yarpie for Counties.

Best news though is No More Dan Kirkfuckingpatrick. Piss off and don't come back.

Seems a bit of a shame.

    Yeah, keen as always.

Absolutely owned up for the Super 15 this year. 72.8% win accuracy. Top 3% globally (4614th out of 155,246)

  14. Rego RS Hutchinson

Biggest flop ever. They talked so highly of him when he first started out. Terrible player.

Interesting to see Jacob Ellison go to Otago (where of course Tamati is, not that he'll play much)

Some decent players coming in from overseas.

Figured you would be keen. I don't know what my win accuracy was in the tipping pool. Doubt it was 73% though. Came Second.

I am going to say right now I am not keen on tipping winning margins.

After having a quick look at the draw (we're in for rugby 6 days of the week) I really hope Taranaki can hold the shield, all season.

    Shield challenges:

    1st Sept: Naki vs Tasman
    7th Sept: Naki vs HB
    15th Sept: Naki vs Cunterbury
    29th Sept: Naki vs Manawatu
    3rd Oct: Naki vs Waikato

Some tough matches there, obviously the 2 hardest being Cunterbury and Waikato (HB could be a threat, hard to say)

Shield rugby is always different and a lot closer than it should be. I just really hope Taranaki beat Canterbury. If Canterbury win the shield again I swear to god shit's going down.

Problem for Naki is they'll be pretty shit in away games, after big shield defences.

It's good for New Plymouth though, should encourage the crowds.

In another note, no matter who wins the shield or keeps it, it's impossible for Wellington to win it this season.

Hope he plays well for Otago.

Tasman to beat naki first match up.

    Heard it here first
