    Vipers raring to go

Season 10 of Cricsim is just days away and many teams are preparing for their first game of the season. Over at the Vipers, they are prepped and raring to go. With a combination of youth, new signings and experienced campaigners, the Vipers are quietly confident heading into the season.

"It'll be an interesting season and things could go either way for us. I think we're definitely top 3 material provided most guys perform well" President of the Vipers Ryan Gee said. Although confident, Gee also understands not to expect too much and would like to go back-to-back but knows that realistic goals need to be set.

"I would love to be part of the first Bannerman Shield team ever to go back-to-back but i'm tipping a 3rd place finishing".

Gee also believes he knows who the standouts for his side will be and is hoping for a lot from some of his more experienced players.

"You can't go past Eggman. With no other stand out bowlers, Eggman will be taking most of the wickets at his usual low average".

Mr Gee's praises continued for DA Eggman when asked who he thinks needs to perform.

"The bowlers. Eggman can single handedly win games but we can't rely on him alone for the entire season. We're going to need our less notable bowlers to give him some support".

Some of the other bowlers that are going to have to help Eggman include BOY Blunder, experienced BA Storer and new recruits SJ Nova and JM Hughes.

On top of Gee's praise, Eggman also recieved praise from his team mate DN Boland and his Crusaders rival JJ Ritchie.

"DA Eggman is the leader of the pack. He is the bowler that all the young bowlers look up too and is a main member of the teams senior players. Keeping wicket to him is tough as catches and dissmisals are never too far away and I must always be on my toes. I am glad I am playing with him and not against him" DN Boland said.

Players of high calibre are well respected from the opposition and many are willing to acknowledge their presence. DA Eggman is no exception to this, though maybe not many players think of him as highly as JJ Ritchie does.

"[DA] Eggman is the perfect definition of a strike bowler. In my opinion, he is the most valuable person in Cricsim right now".

"He was the Vipers main strike weapon to win the Premiership and will continue to be for the foreseeable future".

"The only person above him right now is Wilson, and that is a very close thing. Eggman should be able to take the position of number 1 bowler in Cricsim this season".

What DA Eggman has achieved definitely hasn't gone unnoticed and his statistics tell no lies. After 2,067 first class overs, Eggman has 239 wickets (including a whopping 17 5-wicket innings') to his name at an average of 23.62. His best ever performance was a sensational 8-54.

The Vipers will be hoping that they can back up Season 9 with another strong season and are simply pumped to go. Many of the players are keen for the opening of the season. Expect to see a very enthusiastic effort from the Vipers when Season 10 kicks off!

    Not bad, not bad.

Decent read. Some spelling and grammar errors and the obligatory mention of JM Hughes in there. ;)

Good to see the team gleaning comments from opposition as well.

I was wondering who would be the first to mention the JM Hughes :p

It's turned into a running gag really. I'd be disappointed if there wasn't a mention. I'm merely disappointed that it was in context rather than the mention being completely unwarranted or unrelated to the overall text.

    Pretty good article tbh.

    tldr, generic 101 bullshit.

  15. Cribbage RG Cribb

Nah Hughesy in for Nova. Five seamers would be stupid, and Nova actually has a terrible FC record over a long sample size anyway.

Plus Graham isn't even an opener, and Devonshire's batting > Storer's batting, or else Devo shouldn't even be in the side.

  17. McGrath JE McGrath

Tbh i just put the side together from memory and i always thought Devonshire was a spinner. Slogga was opening as he needs to face the new ball to lower his average.

  18. Wilson SB Wilson

Most valuable player in CricSim atm! HAH!

  19. Alec AD Funkotron

The articles was less about the Vipers and more about sucking Eggman's cock!

That was my bad. He asked me a series of questions and my answers were mostly about Eggy. To be fair though, most of the comments are true.
