    Reading sign Wayne Bridge. Interesting. Seems we are only allowed to sign old washed up left backs, despite having players like Joseph Mills.

    Shame Danny Wilson never ended up being anything, was so highly rated when he transferred, I think I remember a couple of people on here thinking he was going to be a future starter

    I was one of them

    It didn't help that whenever he did play, it was at LB. However, he didn't have the physical presence to play CB and was often overshadowed by Wisdom whilst playing for the reserves

    Shame it hasn't worked out for him but the fact that he's gone to Hearts is scandalous.

    United strongly linked with that Monaco defender/dm Mendy on a free transfer. Supposed to be the new Makelele. Would be gun if he's that good.

    If we sign him would make Moyes' first two United signings <1.5mill :laugh:

    This seems really unlikely to me. Of course I don't think he'll go but it's just not the type of story that appears with no substance.

    The press sometimes make up stories to target people they don't like, or because they're eminently plausible (e.g. Fellaini to United), or because they're exciting for particular fans (e.g. David Villa to anyone). Even if you were going for the "big club randomly decides to get rid of best player" angle, it'd be a much better story if you listed a particular club that were in for him.

    Nah, Mourinho selling x, y, z stories appear everywhere he goes initially when infact he hasn't sold everyone at the start at any club.

    Add, in the whole he is hated in Spain and had problems with Real's spanish contingent angle and it's a easy story to make up that he will automatically now consider selling all Iberian players at Chelsea. Admittedly adding Mata who's been their best player last season, is bit of a stretch but it will get more hits for Duncan Castle.
