It's all speculation....might as well wait until 5 games in and then revisit Gamblers Fading Stars/Shining Lights arguments.

    Wilson isn't declining.....neither is Taylor.

No evidence that Choco's declining either.

  3. AVA T Delonge

Choco had one of his worst seasons last season?

  4. morgieb MC Burridge

    Still took 65 wickets @ 29.51. If that's bad then I'm Superman.

  5. Hunter AD Hunt

You know he's shit when I outbowled him.

  6. RyanG R Gee

It's still a decline though isn't it? That's the point AVA was trying to make.

  7. morgieb MC Burridge

Well it wasn't as great as his previous seasons, but it wasn't anywhere near as severe as other players. Sometimes players just have an average season from time to time.

  8. AVA T Delonge

And sometimes it means that they are getting worse...

  9. morgieb MC Burridge

Meh, I'm not really worried about players getting worse given our bowling. The only thing I'm really worried about is the fragility of our batting lineup.

Your biggest problem is more than just your keeper. It is a part of the bigger problem which is the shithouse nature of your batting from 6 down. You really can't expect your keeper to average more than 30 and Tyson to average more than 25. If you've got your 6 and 7 averaging those sort of numbers, you at the very least want a number 8 that averages around 25 too. Either that or you want your top 5 to be ****ing unbelievable. It has potential to be so but it could well not also.

And before you go on another rant about me saying the Rays are better, I'm certainly not. We have a similar situation with a keeper (albeit a better keeper imo) at 6 and a bowling allrounder at 7, but at least we've got another allrounder at 8. I think that on the whole, you guys would be favourites to win the comp, but there are a ****load of variables that you aren't considering.

Yeah, all of them are gonna average 40+
So me and Manera must be ****ed too.
I know our batting isn't great, and I haven't said anywhere that is is. Our batting is good enough to win us a comp with the bowling attack that we have. That's all that needs to be said.

Given how dead our pitches will most likely be, we don't need high quality batsmen.

Yeah, I do see us making the home ground a road.

Yeah, it's certainly good enough to be in with a chance of winning the comp. There's enough strength in the top 5 batsman to win games though I think the prospect of middle/lower order collapse will ensure that the Gamblors will lose a couple of games. They'll just hope that any matches they lose are in the round robin rather that at the business end of the tourney.

  15. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I don't see us losing at NRLM(?) oval, TBH.

  16. Wilson SB Wilson

    Spinning pitch, imo.

  17. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

You and Taylor are good enough to get wickets on a road, most other spinners aren't.

  18. morgieb MC Burridge

Yeah, there'll probably be games where someone just dominates and I can't see us going undefeated. But it's still hard to see any other sides win. If Bullpitt fails to resign other sides may be a chance, but if not....

  19. AVA T Delonge

And it'll **** you over if your bowlers don't perform to plan as well.

  20. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

You mean if we don't bowl we won't win? OMG!

Stating the obvious like you know what you're talking about.
