Yeah, I do. I hate the NRL salary cap. I'd hate it even more here due to the problems I've already outlined. Either you remove the ability for the player to let his loyalty over-ride his wallet, or there's no incentive anyway.
That is a major flaw of it and which I can't answer for. I bought this up when I first joined and it got dismissed, and it won't be any difference. It's just quite interesting to dicuss.
Yeah, but while they could do that in real-life, they couldn't do that in a CricSim salary cap situation, as the only way it'd work would be minimum player values. You could have a situation where the minimum player values of everyone within a club increased throughout a season and despite everyone wanting to stay and the club wanting to keep them, it couldn't happen. Not with any amount of loyalty imaginable. Unlike in real life, you couldn't just take a cut because there's nothing to actually cut.
Could still have that situation. Basically, while it'd add something to the competition, there are major complications and flaws that people in favour of it are far too willing to look over. These issues would arise if we implemented it and people would get ****ed pissed off with it really quickly. Until someone comes up with a genuine solution to these problems (preferably by adding a genuine incentive to get paid more - and no, I'm not going to have it effect simming averages as you could effectively turn someone into a good player just by throwing heaps of money at them) it's not going to happen. People coming into this thread and blindly throwing their faith behind it with simplistic posts which ignore the huge, huge problems associated with this are not going to force the issue - if anything they'll just make me more stubborn in regards to ensuring it doesn't happen even if we do indeed find a solution.
Anyway we all know the only reason you don't like it Cribb is because your team made the grand final the past 2 times & doesn't produce it's own juniors. I like it as it'll make who makes the grand final less predictable. It also allows junior development to be more important.
Have you actually read my posts in this thread? **** that post makes me angry. That is such a ****ing shit post. The reason I don't like is because of the ****ing problems I've outlined in this ****ing thread, which no-one has come up with a ****ing solution to. ****ing ****.
there's a hard delete coming IMO.... I think it'll stop teams like the Carbs loading up 22 good players, and taking out the ALC and BS. Whilst this is probably bad, it's punishing Boob's ability to recruit 22 good players
Thats a bit of a logical fallacy tbh - Robs stated why we won't have it and that makes more sense then your reasoning.
This is not the problem. The problems are: * Inability to create incentive - no-one is going to care if they get paid CricSim$1 or CricSim$435684356856005680 as they can't do anything with the CricSim money. * Discouragement of loyalty, and the potential for players to actual be unable to sign for clubs who want to keep them regardless of what they do if we implement minimum values (which we'd have to given the existence of the first bullet-point). The stupidity in this thread has no bounds.
