We have way too many players for six teams. Even with eight teams this season we had active players not getting a game in Seconds. Take away 44 places for people to play in and we'll really have to have Thirds, particularly if you factor in that new people will join.
**** off the inactive people who aren't that great, and seconds will be a gun comp as well... The problem is you want every person who has ever joined the site to be playing.

Having any less than 8 is just ridiculous. There are way too many good players not in firsts as it is.
Nah, the real problem is the fact that the likes of Danno and Rusty are so good. People sign them up and play them in first grade every season even though they don't follow their progress at all. It wouldn't be these players to miss out if we cut the teams back; it'd be players like Swimmerdoog, Gasnier etc as well as any new players who happen to sign up. I think you under-estimate the number of players who follow simming we actually have, anyway. We could probably get by with seven (although it'd remove any incentive whatsoever to sign up new members) but six would be far too few.
I'd love to see the Allstars come back eventually, but I don't really think it should happen with people like Rusty and Billy being active, and sadly I can't see that happening ever again. It's funny though, if they all just went back there they'd still finish top 3.. the forum would just be a ghost town.
No new teams should be added in the near future. We have 8 teams so lets just stick with them for a season or 2. Multiple season contracts are the way to go, but a 3 month off season is what has caused all the current shit AFAIC.
