What I'm currently digging - Dope Body and Death Grips. also, Crash of Rhinos. Think they might be an older release though.
http://www.universal-music.de/the-gaslight-anthem/videos/detail/video:275962/making-of-handwritten Didn't like 45, but my faith has been restored in the band, and I cannot contain my excitement for this record.
Silversun Pickups new album is no Carnavas, but it's real solid. Good listening there. Jack White's album is a real grower too, really good listen. If you're into something chilled out, go download Matt McHugh's album Love Come Save Me for nada on his website. He's lead for the Beautiful Girls and is killer live. I'm going to Splendour, so will get on a bulk music buy as soon as exams are over and get the hype pumping. Also quite enjoying Hot Chip's album that's been whoring it out on Triple J this week.
Loved Swoon tbh. Listening to the new one at the moment and it just makes me want to listen to other Silversun albums.
Yeah, Swoon's my favourite album, but everyone else seems to recognise Carnavas as the peak. I agree - the highs aren't anywhere near as high as offered by songs off the other albums, but it's pretty solid. The Pit, Gun-Shy Sunshine and Make Believe are my favourite tracks off the album.
not to be mean but this just sounds like a really simplified version of god is an astronaut, more/less the burial ep is as good as everyone says it is, btw~
Haven't heard 'God is an astronaut' but read somewhere that the band is Autumn Moonlight's inspiration. So similar musics I guess. If you could recommend me some good songs of God is an astronaut, that would be great mate.
i'm not surprised. the similarity is kinda obvious. not a big god is an astronaut fan, but all is violent, all is bright is pretty good i guess
Any of you cunts heard of a band called Tonight Alive? Apparently been touring the world for like 18 months and killing it? Went to school with the drummer and the guitarist was a mate in me music class. Still never heard any of there music or ever heard anyone mention them, they've just got a massive tour bus for the states and had a huge deal with sony.
The singer is very very hot. Will try and catch their set at the warped tour this year if I remember to check them out.
I had never heard of them but a bit of googling reveals they are indeed killing it. Bit of a Paramore 2.0
think a few people here might be interested in alcest. hard to describe, a sort of french shoegaze-y post-rock-slash-post-metal (i made the last one up on the spot). hard to describe. french, though
and new venetian snares has been out for some time, ofc edit: nothing i've heard this year tops burial's kindred ep though. just wow, best thing i've heard in ages by a mile
Yeah, I've heard them referred to as "blackgaze". Pretty good, although I don't have as much patience for post-rock style music as I used to have. More interested in punk these days.
