Dune Rats are the pits. Wish all these Wavves and No Age knock-offs ala Bleeding Knees Club would fuck off.

Have you heard the new Gaslight Anthem single yet?

    45? Yes. Do want.

Yeah, I like it although I kinda wish they changed it up a bit. I think I need to hear it in the context of the album though, they're a band that when I want to listen to them I'll just put an album on rather than particular songs.

Not a fan of it myself, it's sounds like a radio friendly pop-punk Pearl Jam. Disappointed that it lacks the originality that all their previous work has had. My expectations are still high for the album, however. Also new Hot Water Music album out in two weeks. I wonder whether it will sound like Old HWM or Chuck Ragan's solo work but electric?

So Tom Gabel of Against Me! is undergoing hormone therapy and is soon to undergo surgery to turn himself into a woman. I saw him last month and knew something was not well, but I assumed that was just the heroin winning.

Of course they are still relevant! Lots of bands borrow so much from them.

19, Heef. Rabbitboy's right, MBV are pretty much being pillaged by a lot of newer bands incorporating shoegaze and 80's style influences.

SHOEGAZING IS BACK IN! Why did I not receive the memo on this subject?

    Slowdive & Swervedriver ftw.

I thought Shoegazing was still as passe as Grebo and New Wave of New Wave.

Haha, my mate is obsessed with shoegaze. I can't stand it.

Don't think its ever left really. Nothing ever really loses relevance, everything is borrowed or built upon.

AVA, why limit yo self? There's enough TYPES of shoegaze, or perhaps different bands twisting shoegaze, that anyone can find something they like within it.

    Same goes for any genre.

Well from the 10+ bands my mate has shown me, they are all bad. :p
