Yeah Here Comes My Man I think it was. Thought it was ok, probably need to listen more to it. I think the '59 Sound will just always be untouchable for me. Everything on that album is perfect. If they had of stopped there they would be legendary imo.
I know what you mean. For me that album is the pinnacle of music. It not only changed, and reinvented but saved my life as well. As I've made pretty obvious I'm obsessive with this band, but that album is just so different from anything else that's being done in music at the moment, and every song on that album means the world to me. Even Cowgirls Get The Blues :fap:
It's the official song of the Olympics, I believe it was written with that in mind too. I'm a fan but it still has nothing on their glory days. I think it sounds way more like Queen than anything on The Resistance did.
That was the problem I had with the last album was because the whole time through the first listen I was like QUEEN! And that really put me off it.
Yeah they got the mix between punk and rock on that album completely right. The guitar tones are droolworthy, the lyrics are all great and all the songs are distinct. Spinning it now
REALLY? I mean REALLY? I think it was written with it in mind too... after they had their pockets nicely filled with dollar bills.
I haven't heard it, but I imagine I'm about to be bombarded with it synced over super slo-mo montages of athletes in the Olympics soon.
Nothing wrong with Queen! Top band IMO. Just gotta get past the fact that their front man liked it up the rear.
Then it is hardly something that needs to be stated. If anyone has a problem with that then they are the ass.
Only thing that irks me is the reverb on Brian's vocals but that's what everyone complains about. The man is one of the greatest lyricists in modern music in my opinion one of my favourite of theirs lyrically is Orphans "And I can feel it in my aging bones How the sound of the rain mixes up Into the fountains where I drank my hero's blood So I left you to find my very own hat full of rain"
The reverb doesn't even bother me honestly. Just something that's a part of the record and I've grown used to and is part of its "character" now I guess.
muse has had strong classical influences since about 4 AD tbf i don't know what to think about it. if i was meant to take it seriously i'd hate it but i don't think i'm meant to take it seriously, so i'm left a bit confused. as it stands i just can't stop laughing throughout
the opening is particularly hilarious. case study in how you can make the same melody sound completely different with a different approach
