Decemberists go to #1 in America. Ironic that their weakest album (IMHO) is also their most popular. Edit: or maybe not.
Has anyone got any news about the Kings of Leon tour being postponed? I've got tickets and accommodation booked but heard it'd been put back a few months.
Downloaded an album t'other day by a band called Avalanche City. It was a free download on their website I think. Seems pretty decent. I've never heard of them before, but can't complain about Free Download.
An injury to drummer Nathan Followill has forced the Kings Of Leon to postpone their upcoming Australian tour in March. The change in plans has come about after Followill tore his right labrum and bicep. A statement issued by the Frontier Touring Company says: Doctors have advised that at least three months will be required for Nathan to recover post surgery to ensure the injury doesn't reoccur. The injury has, at this stage, led to the postponement of Australian and South African tour dates for Kings Of Leon. Nathan said of the postponement, "Sorry to all the fans in Australia and South Africa. My bum wing needs more time to heal but we'll be back later this year. Sorry again". A new itinerary is currently being secured for November in Australia and will be advised to fans this week. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets until further notice. Keep an eye on the gig guide for more details on the rescheduled dates.
http://www.thevine.com.au/player/Ghoul/default.aspx My favourite release of the year so far! (stream the full album on that site) The second song is probably the easist song to get into.
Best music news I've heard in ages (despite it being just a rumour) is that Justin Vernon has locked himself away again apparently recording the follow up to For Emma, Forever Ago. This is despite saying that was it.
