They may not be going great on the field this season but they're in much, much better shape as a club than the Saders or Pumas. They aren't having internal political struggles, they aren't having trouble retaining players and their subforum is not only in the top 3 for activity since the forum re-opened, but is actually quite pleasant to read (unlike the first incarnation of the Vipers, or the current Lions forum). Them getting the boot/folding back when it happened was easily the best thing that could happen to them. AVA got heaps of experience working with two of the best club-runners/lineup-selectors in CricSim and they gradually gave him more responsibility - he's done an excellent job since the Vipers came back into the comp. All their players (except maybe Storer) appear to be staying and they've attracted a quality opening bat which is what they needed. They also have quite a few players really starting to emerge as young talents coming through the lower grades who have indicated they'll be staying as well - I refer to Torres, Popovic etc. They aren't up there with the best clubs yet, but they're certainly going the right way about it IMO.
Their roster for next season will be far better than their roster for this season. Not just in who they've acquired but the improvement some of their players will undergo in that time.
Also wanting to know, seeing you have access to all the sub-forums, of any of the players that are supposedly signing, or close to signing made - how many of them have brought this to their current clubs attention?
Most players have been letting their clubs know when they've received an offer they're considering. I don't think I've come across a situation where one club claims to have sewn up a player while his current club has no idea he's considering leaving.
Unless the activity has inproved tenfold and regular interesting conversation are more higher, I don't believe you.
TBH, it did for a little while. Activity in there has dropped off quite a bit since the site closed down and re-opened though. I think it has a lot to do with Manero going on holidays; he's really the one that got it kick-started when he arrived IMO.
Yeah, you guys lost Meister and Emm which might have slowed it down too. DD and GYR used to post a lot, but I think GYR has been fairly busy with uni.
I think the English members and a majority of the younger members who are mistaken for English (even I do it with some of my own) add so much to the forum. Our sub-forum would be the worst without those blokes.
