Yeah, you still can't really pick someone based on that. You can pick someone if you think their lower grade performances haven't been indicative of their quality - that they are better than they have performed (although I'd advise against it, as I've said) - but you can't pick someone now because you think they'll be good later. And again it just wouldn't be a good idea because players develop better in the lower grades when they're new anyway.

I think you've got the player development thing a bit backwards. You can hold someone back as to not rush them, but you can't promote someone early, unless you genuinely think they're better than the bloke they're replacing and just haven't shown it yet. There is really absolutely no incentive at all for playing a rookie who you don't actually think will out-perform the veteran anyway; it doesn't help them in the slightest.

 

Actually I have thought of one really small advantage, but it wouldn't be worth it.

If someone was silly enough to do that I wouldn't mind as such, but I don't want games prioritised, mainly because it messes with the rankings. And I wouldn't care about the rankings but for the fact that they indirectly affect each player's actual ability.

 

Or rather, was before I changed the system lots. Hence this thread...

 

They have no depth. Pretty sure the only Cobra who scores runs in the Plate is Luffers who has an even worse List A record.
