He is still playing Rugby overseas early next year.

  2. Eggman DA Eggman

Considering he used to play AFL, he'll do well.

  3. Frizzed WC Welker

    worst career move ever.

  4. Alec AD Funkotron

Apparently he was really average at it tho.

I'm hearing that he is getting 800k a season for 3 seasons plus sponsorship deals.

Anyone able to confirm that - was it said in the conference?

From what i heard the AFL recruits called hem elite. We'll have to wait and see, also he'll probably play in Japan in the off-season.

    lol wut.

    Massive fail.

Of all the footballing codes, AFL would probably be the hardest to read. The thing that set apart the elite (top 2 or 3) players from the rest is only the ability to read the play. It's extremely difficult.

Hunt will never be anything other than a contributor for the Gold Coast. That's ok, because GC only signed him for publicity, to try and win market share in Queensland.

If he gets fit and is able to run out a game (up to 18km for a midfielder) he shouldn't have too much problems. They'll work on his skills to get them to an acceptable standard. Can't teach footy smarts though so he'll always struggle there.

Can picture him playing, or at least starting, in the backline with the instruction of just staying on his opponent. That will teach him how to contest at least.

In terms of pay packet, can't imagine he'd be on too much more than what he is in the NRL. The Gold Coast do have salary cap concessions, but they're still looking at signing one, maybe two, marquee players, which will coast them upwards of $1m per season each.

I just do not see how he will make it in the AFL. I mean AFL players have to be smarter and better at making decisions than League or Union players and lets face it his decision making is shit house. Publicity stunt and at that a really good one. He will need to play AFL next season though for a VFL team to pick up the skills.

Well he was offered 450k by the Broncos and is only on 200-250k IIRC so my guess is he will be on a shitload more at the coast.

Arm grab and shoulder are different things.

Yeah, he'd deffo be on a contract well in excess of 500K a year.

He actually is a fairly risk free player, makes the best decision tbh.

He will stuggle with the rough conduct rules imo.

    It's funny seeing on various forums Broncos fans saying;

Or similar things to that effect.

    He's played Origin.

Unless you mean he will be too rough?

    DWTIA

    Where? I haven't seen one.

  19. Guest MR Hayes

Yeah he will struggle with the rules around tackling and physical contact because he is too rough.

Will cop quite a few charges by the MRC in the first season imo.

Let me guess, Hayne makes better decisions?
