    Even though I feel Bale's run of form was ridiculous and he overachieved, you can't deny he was a superstar and a game breaker. Spurs have replaced him with Paulinho (great centre mid), Soldado, Chadli, Eriksen and Lamela. Lamela has a ton of potential but it's sketchy to say the least given what's been going on with him, but really, Tottenham didn't sign anyone with the killer instinct to make up for what they lost with Bale.

    9 goals through 12 games for a team that's meant to be competing for a champions league birth is pathetic.

    Most of the signings were OK. Soldado is the only one that really stands out as a waste of money.

    They were just never going to all come good as a team immediately. Maybe in the long run they did good business by replacing Bale with a better overall squad (not convinced of this ftr). But if you thought they were going to be better this season than last season you were deluding yourself.
