Wouldn't be an issue. I'm basically suggesting you give the Crabs a second franchise, give them 2 new subbies and fold a current team. Same amount of teams, spreads talent more evenly, and gives more activity overall if you keep their old subbie and don't allow the posts to count for the sim. Still there's a fair few issues with the idea I admit.
What's the difference between the Stingrays doing this through the Hottest Women thread (or whatever it is), and the Crabs doing it through the Travel thread? Don't start lecturing us on what we do and don't post when you've got no way of knowing. Not at all. If we were doing shit like that, Heef would have dismantled the Crabs a long time ago. The discussion we have is comparable to what goes on in the Ravens subbie, what I recall of the Pumas subbie from my time there. It isn't a subforum of endless spam. I'm pretty sure Cribb's vision of the forum, anyway, was that people could decide exactly how they wanted to use it. If you want to engage with people in the Pub, do so. If you want to post prolifically in a variety of subforums so you never have to deal with the stuff that goes on in Direness, you can. I mean, I personally stick mostly to the Crabs and Ravens subforum plus the political threads in the Pub because I cbf reading the endless Fiery-trolling that seems to have permeated pretty much everywhere else.
Wonder how much baseless bitching about the Crabs has boosted Baxter's post count. Certainly comparable to how much he talks about the sim these days, which is a lot less than Weeman, Furball, Quaggas or Vimes.
Thing is, not allowing them to make the posts they make in their subforum wouldn't mean they'd post them in the Pub; they'd just not post them at all. It wouldn't achieve anything. It's a hard one, because I think in terms of non-CricSim sims, encouraging teams to develop their side by fostering active subforums is basically how it works. The Crabs are set to develop an awesome side because they've done that better than every other side. So on one hand they deserve it, and on the other hand it's just going to be outrageously boring and potentially suck all the life out of the sim. My only suggestion is to perhaps make them field two teams. Retain the subforum as it is but make them field two teams in first grade. I'm not sure even I like it, but it's worth discussing perhaps.
How is a CW bitch sanctuary not an original idea either? As far as content goes I've not seen that anywhere else. Form a Crabs bitch sanctuary if you want where everyone can have a go at us behind closed doors. While we're on the topic though, are we going to try to actively discourage the Cnuts from participating as well? What's BS about it? There's nothing at all restricting Escath starting a League of Legends team, Gemmell a RapeSim team and yourself a Football team. The point truly is that there is nobody out there with the initiative or time to do so. We're struggling to get people to submit lineups for rep games ffs, surely that's a bigger issue than one team posting a lot.
People genuinely wouldn't have an issue if there was a: Soccer discussion based side Planet Cricket based side League of Legends based side etc etc All of which takes away from discussion on the open forum? If you discuss it in the subbie because you don't like the CricSim open fora, then maybe you shouldn't be posting as part of a team in a secondary sim to the purpose of the bloody website. Go set up a chat room, or a Twitter list, or a quicktopic if you don't like this place so much.
One obviously solution is for Heef to sign with the crabs, there's never been a problem whilst he's been on the dominant team.

Very little tbh. Though you never miss an opportunity to point out when I do, do you? As for the final remark, not comparable at all but agreed on the second point. Maybe the fact I took four months off the forum during this season and the fact its taken so long that half our side has grown up, developed more important things than to converse over RU Sim and left has something to do with that. Sadly, I haven't yet obvz.
Well that's where we just differ then. To me, that's stuff that should be all on the open forum and from my understanding of the Crabs, they largely exist of that sort of stuff, stuff that shouldn't even really be on this forum anyway and then just enough SR stuff to keep it scarcely relevant.
And yeah, very much this. I like the fact that there's an opportunity for members to enjoy this place even if they don't like the atmosphere of the open forum. I like the fact that different team subforums foster different sorts of discussion. The Stingrays forum has largely died off with the CricSim break which is a big shame, but it even more than the Crabs forum was an awesome example of being its own community. That is very much my vision for this place. I don't judge the site purely what goes on in the open. If people are enjoying the place primarily because they enjoy their team subforum, then that's absolutely fine. It's the best way to make the really lenient moderation policy work - giving people avenues to escape certain things.
I feel like that's an issue that should be dealt within the sim, when we come to it. I think Heath could figure out a fair enough way to solve it by reducing the relative difference in quality between post ranks.
Idea: The Crabs are so keen and hot on all that's SR - give them all the provincial selectors jobs. Would solve one issue in the interim.
