McLean got 3 for the tackle 4 for the injury. Grade 2 dangerous throw is 325 points. McLean got an extra 400 for the injury. White took the early guilty plea, went down to 245 or something. But yeah kind of ridiculous the difference between them.
Newcastle honouring a contract extension and the NRL saying they will look after him for life. Guilty cunts
What about everyone else who's career has been cut short by injury? Does Jharal Yow Yeh have a job for life as well?
Nah. It's no different. Careers ended by injuries all over the shop, yet this happens and all of a sudden they are promising him a job for life???
I don't understand the logic from you and KK. You both seem to be suggesting that Newcastle offering job security to a more than likely handicapped person is somehow a bad thing on the grounds that other players who've had career ending injuries haven't been compensated in the same way by their clubs. That's called making the best the enemy of the good.
I don't mind the Newcastle thing, but the NRL are going fucking overboard. "Rise for Alex" Round, a lifetime job and stuff. Taniela Tuiaki can't run, where's his round?
Actually with SM on this a bit. If Newcastle have offered him job security that's one thing - the club would know him well, would be in a position to back him to be an asset in whatever role they gave him long term and would want to instil a sense of community as well - but if the NRL have done it then that's a bit much IMO.
Oh I don't like the idea of the NRL doing it either. But Newcastle have every right to. It's ridiculous to say well, Newcastle shouldn't do that because Yow Yeh wasn't compensated by the Broncos with a job. That's absurd.
Yeah I agree. I haven't really read into it enough to know how much of this is the Knights and how much of it is the NRL though.
NRL are trying to gain fame/credit for it IMO. "oh look at us, offering amazing jobs to a guy who everyone is feeling bad for at the moment"
