McGuire would have to be playing like Steve Price for me to pick him ahead of Shillington on the bench, let alone starting the cunt. Fuck that with a big phat cock.:p

McGuire would be perfect for the role we need. He's a very mobile and aggressive front rower who can play long minutes.

And if we actually pick 4 props, we don't need him to play long minutes. Look it's just a big risk we really don't need to make. Blood him from the bench. Ease him into it. We saw with Woods what can happen when you throw a young prop into the cauldron of Origin. Your reference to McGuire playing long minutes is eerily similar to points we heard made by Woods' supporters.

It's not like we're running low on them. If we have Scott, Shillington, Hannant and Myles fit there is absolutely no good reason to start a 24-year-old, rookie. It is much, much harder to start than to come off the bench.

If William Hopoate has kept his fitness up you would think he is a chance to play next year, provided his natural athletic abilities are still intact.

He's black, of course they will.

If Folau comes back I would seriously consider dropping Slater and moving Inglis.

    1.Inglis
    2.Boyd
    3.Tate
    4.Hodges
    5.Folau

That is the best backline we can muster IMO. Unfortunately the more likely scenario is simply dropping Tate for Folau, which is part of why I won't lament Folau's absence should he choose to stay in Rugby.

Slater won't be dropped. Tate or Boyd will go for Folau, or we just won't pick Folau.

there's no way they would drop slater, i doubt they'd drop boyd either, if folau does come back surely it'd be just a straight swap with tate?

An injury may open things up. Hodges was lucky to get so many chance but after this series he is pretty safe in the lineup.

If Hodges were to retire from rep footy but Tate chose to remain, I would change my position on the existence of god.

  11. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Why? Hodges was our best back this series.

You know why. One good series in 10 does not an Origin player make. Tate is twice the Origin player Hodges is.

    If you say so...

Pure statement of fact, my friend.

Hopefully Dave Taylor gets his shit together. I think that the time has come to fuck Slater off in favour of GI. I think that the tough call is going to have to come from Sheens in order for it to be any chance to happen for Qld.

It's not going to come from Sheens either. One in a million.

It should be more likely to happen for Australia but alas, NSW have no good outside backs. The only reason to keep Inglis at centre is not having another quality centre/ winger (with Tate moving in field) to replace him with.

    1. Greg Inglis
    2. Darius Boyd
    3. Jarryd Hayne
    4. Jamie Lyon
    5. Brent Tate

  19. Harry Sack SB Slippy

I'll be interested to see what happens with Slater actually. He hasn't looked 100% all year IMO and he's always heavily strapped.

He's still playing very well but he does look a bit laboured when he is forced to move side to side.
