    We're at a point where even if we picked our most experienced, best team, we aren't going to beat Queensland without a great deal of luck (Refs raping them and unfornuate injuries). As stupid as it sounds, we should be looking to the future and make sure we can unearth players who can perform at this level.

    For a start, we'll have a very straightforward spine of Hayne, Carney, Pearce and Farah which shouldn't change for the next 5 or so years.

    Four players being shit doesn't mean the NSWRL weren't picking with the future in mind.

    Snowden, Jennings, Mannah, Idris, Brothers Morris, TLL, McManus, Williams, Wallace, Hoffman, Turner, Cross, Stewart etc. these blokes were all picked with a view for the future.

    Hell, the team for Game 3 this year was the most inexperienced since 2004.

    Why do they deserve such loyalty? None have proven themselves in Origin apart from Hayne (in attack). Carney has never even played and Pearce and Farah have been crap.

    I don't think Pearce should be an automatic selection in the side. He's about as creative as a rock. I'd especially consider picking someone else at halfback if they went with Ennis at hooker again. But on the other hand, giving Farah another shot at hooker and picking Pearce and a creative 5/8th could potentially work well.

    Yeah. Farah, Pearce and Carney/Soward is definitely my preferred 9/7/6 at the moment. I'll throw Campese in the running for five-eighth too but it'd never happen.

    How do we know that? We haven't done it in years.

    Queensland are going to have the better Origin team on paper no matter who we pick, but if we picked the best team available to us it'd be close enough to give us a legitimate chance of winning. That's what we should be doing.
