    Why?

Moa gets stopped in his tracks alot, Jarred pushes through a bit more often. If they have any chance of winning it's going to be off the back of fast plays of the ball.

Moi Moi is their best impact prop. He's not a poor defender and he isn't illdisciplined. I don't see how you can leave out the bloke who makes 10m a run. McKendry I can understand but not Bromwich.

Actually if they're going to be any chance of winning they can't afford to give away penalties, which is an inherent risk when you pick one of the most penalised players in the game.

JWH does play the ball quicker, sure. But he doesn't make more ground.

I knew it would come back to penalties.

Let's be honest, picking the most solid team they have, they wont stand a chance of winning unless Australia play fairly badly. I'd take the risk of Jarred if I were them. He can also provide emotion which they desperately need to overcome Australia, Moa wont.

Yeh the amount of times JWH has found his front when taking a hit up (as opposed to being wrestled onto your back) has been exceptional.

The penalites are a bit of a killer though. What I find more surprising is that people are willing to throw Moa in there after 4 decent NRL games. I know NZ aren't spoiled for choice but he's essentially a debutant this year.

Yeah, it was amazing to think that since the 2006 Tri-Nations they have consistently had 2-3 of the top props in the game. Cayless, Asotasi, Lima, Moimoi ... and yet they seemed incapable of picking more than one or two of them in the same side for any given tournament.

At the moment I think New Zealand are in a bit of a rebuild in terms of their front row. Matulino is the only one who really screams "pick me". After that there is a fair bit of depth but no real standouts. Losing Tamou hasn't helped either.

Seems a fairly pertinent issue of contention. Penalties and errors usually decide matches, as much as some people on this forum and in the greater RL community would prefer to think otherwise.

Moa won't gift them field position either which will probably mean an early try. Which most likely means a lead at HT. Which most likely means a lead at full time. JWH is a risk that they don't need to take IMO. They've got plenty of go-forward and plenty of creativity.

The guy is 26 years old and has 80+ FG games to his name. A little respect for the SL wouldn't go astray. I don't rate the comp as highly as most but it's silly to say he's a debutante FGer. He also has 7 Tests for Tonga.

I think I made a post last year saying I would've considered Moa for the end of year Test. Unfortunately I can't do a search for words only 3 letters long. Playing well in the NRL has just added to his credentials really.

JWH might as well be a debutant as well given this is the first time he's actually played well.

Legitimately did till I was about 14/15 I was a weird kid. Haha but it just makes me angry now like my mood will be fucked and ill be short with people for a couple of hours after I lose my own games and its the same with origin/rabbits final games so far.

You can't pick a NZ side atm without picking JWH. No way.

I cracked the biggest sads after the GF last year, was so dirty as I was leaving the stadium. I must have been the worst cunt to deal with on the way home. I support Hawthorn in the AFL and two grand final losses in two days just pushed me over the edge.

Fair enough, have to say the few games I did watch of Hull I didn't really notice him. In fact I couldn't even recall seeing him play when we did sign him.

  17. cloughie09 TJ Clough

He wasn't the best forward for hull, can think off a lot better players for NZ and that's just in Super League

You can do a wildcard search that brings up nothing :ninja:

To be fair there are a whole host of reasons I could be accused of being biased towards him.

He was very good in Super League. He wasn't Hull's best forward, no, but he's not the Roosters best forward either and he's still playing bloody well.
