Round 9 - BS, HC, ALC, HP Sticky Wickets v Cyclones Pumas v Gamblers Ravens v Stingrays Allstars v Vipers Crusaders - Bye Round 5 - PC, PCDIY New Zealand v Asia NSW City v Victoria Queensland v Britain NSW Country - Bye
This is a huge week in the BS. I'm genuinely excited for it. After this week is over we'll have reached the halfway point of the BS season, meaning everyone will have played every other team once. Stickies v Cyclones The Cyclones have a chance to confirm their status as semi-final contenders and keep in touch with the top three by playing the bottom of the table Stickies. However the only other time the Clones have been favourites for a match this season they lost, and they're without their best player this season (Verigotta) with injury. The Stickies have a huuge opportunity to win their first game of the season. Pumas v Gamblers Massive game not only for the clubs involved but basically every other club as well. If the Pumas take full points they'll open up the gap between them and the Gamblers to 26 points, but perhaps more relevantly ensure the Cyclones can't draw level with them with a win over the cellar dwellers. The Gamblers can close the gap to 6 points though and keep themselves right in the frame. The Allstars, Vipers, Stingrays, Ravens and Cyclones will all be cheering on the Gamblers - Pumas are pretty unpopular this week. Ravens v Stingrays Two teams have been pretty unlucky with close and unexpected losses this season - you'd figure whoever won this match would stay in the hunt and whoever lost would be almost gone barring an epic finish. The Ravens have won their last two games in a row after a shocking start while the Rays have started to taper off a bit but it's the most important game of the season for both teams, especially if the Pumas win. Allstars v Vipers Top of the table battle at the home of #2; a real high-class affair. If the Vipers win they'll have one eye on the minor premierships while if the Allstars win it'll make that battle really interesting and break the top two away from the rest. Queensland v Britain should be a good game too. Asia and Britain should get hammered however.
I'm sure I checked the fixture list. I don't think I was drunk at the time?? Well. This makes the selection interesting.
At first I thought you may have made the common mistake at looking under Round 9 given it's Round 9 of the BS... but your bye is in Round 7. Now idea how you got that.
I'm not sure why, but I thought we were playing NSW Country this week, I think. Not sure I should be trying to work out why right now though - boy am I pissed.
