Reckon that's the sort o lineup we should be looking at next year would be great if mcinnes kicked on or a fringe hooker signed as I dislike Luke for 80 as it lessens his dynamism IMO

Sutton will never succeed as a back rower

Sutton should only have ever been a backrower.

    Never a half.

    * on the wing will be Reece Robinson I reckon.

Reckon he's not much better than Merritt Goodwin reddy to warm until we have a rookie push them out like Johnston has tbh Robinson is only going to decline from here

Robinson's not bad; problem is that he's an absolute pea heart.

  11. Julian BJ Taylor

    He's not a winger.

    Shit under the high ball.
Absolutely goes missing when you need ah metres from your own end. Always waits until 4th tackle for a dummy half scoot.
    Makes errors under pressure.

    Watching Norths v Canberra.

Merritt playing five-eighth and in the space of two minutes he dummies and got absolutely smashed by Lagi Setu and coughed the ball up then next set hospital pass to the fullback saw him sat on his ass by Setu and another dropped ball.

    Back to the wing Nathan.

I'm watching it too but I'm on a half hour delay because I missed the start.

How how Jack Ahearn gone this year? There were pre-season rumours of starting this season in first grade, but I thought I would have heard more about him through the season given Milford is leaving. Was surprised Rapana was picked as NRL fullback.

  14. Julian BJ Taylor

I haven't seen much of Ahearn this year but I never really rated him that highly.

He played half a season in the halves in qcup and wasn't great from all reports. But since coming back to NSW he's been really good at fullback apparently.

He's ok, he's just that bit short of having the potential to be elite. He reads the game really well, which is a big bonus. His ball playing is good for a fullback but he's not any combination of quick, strong or agile enough to make it as a fullback. I thought he may have a future at centre, but I think I'm a bit out of touch with reality on that front, no one puts ball players at centre anymore.

  15. Julian BJ Taylor

Apparently Rapana was absolutely killing it in qcup so they gave him a taste of first grade as a direct replacement for Robinson (backup winger/fullback) which I think is an ok move.

Some brilliant refereeing in this game.

  17. Magic AJ Parker

Ahearn just strikes me as a player who's not bad at any one facet of the game but just doesn't excel at any one facet of the game either. Was good in the 20's purely due to his size and decent ball playing game.

  18. Julian BJ Taylor

Yeah. Reminds me a bit of Quinlan really. Looks ok, was a good junior, but probably won't be a first grader.
