    So is there a definite cut off in terms of how many posts you have had to have made before you can debut in the care cup or how much activity rank you should have in relation to length of the pre - season? Should make it a rule then, i guess.

    Otherwise, it's all subjective and the CoS's will only be guessing around when it is on the edge, as it still is only a pre - season tournament. And as Nino said pre - season tournaments are used for experimentation and trying out younger players around many sports.

    No, the big difference there was that Season 10 was not Season 11 and I have completely different ideas about how I want the Care Cup to function after reviewing the farcical nature of the First Class debuts that were given out last season.

    FFS, every time anyone gets into an argument with you, all they end up doing is having to explain why A and B are different. Pick a different way to argue than drawing false comparisons for once ffs.

    The amount of posts doesn't matter, it's about the experience they have previously in SC and FC cricket. Often young players will get their FC debut in a pre-season competition in real life, but to play in a FC game before even 1 SC game is pretty much unheard of. That's what Cribb is annoyed at, just because a guy has loads of posts doesn't mean people should assume he'll be able to play FC straight away. It's just not realistic.

    If you see a kid with loads of natural talent no FC selector worth his salt would just chuck him into a full on FC match, there are stepping stones for a reason.

    It's called Case Law in Stare decisis in legal terms. No 2 instances are exactly the same, but the differences between the 2 can be analyzed to see whether they are a disqualifier to the precedent or not. Because more or less there is where the problem lies.

    Fair enough if you want too change the rules based on the reasoning you have given(and is there any point arguing with that ?), but the point i was making was that it would be better if there was a fixed parameter to decide who can play and who can not announced beforehand, rather than you deciding retrospectively or even midway based on subjectivity and then there being a argument, as there is some possibility at least of a player who did not play any game before doing well here. Which was what i was trying to show with the example, rather than saying because he was allowed x should be too. Also, i like trivia. :p

    Stare decisis is when the material facts are the same or similar enough. They aren't here so you can't apply the precedent

    At any rate, if you want to go further into legal terms, there is nothing saying Cribb has to stick by his precedent. Same jurisdiction means he can overturn previous decisions he has made
