    I've noticed beginner's luck is very big with pokies. It's like the pokie gods are sucking people in for life by giving them early wins.

    You never hear someone say "I put $100 through the pokies when I was 18 and pulled out nothing; turned me off for life." You always hear stories about people winning on their first try or winning big after not playing for years, and then the hard luck "almost" stories of the old cunts who are probably about $50,000 down over their lifetimes despite that early win when they were 18.

    Perhaps I should go around trying to find people who have never played pokies before, and then pay them to sit there and put my money in.

    Was talking about that at lunch and how often it happens. My punter mates and I have never won anything over $100, seems that heaps of cunts who've chucked in money once or twice have those ridiculous 'Yeah I put $5 bucks in that 'Sore Chilli' pokie or something, won like $1200'

    Yeah my mate's brother just turned 18 a few months ago and has no idea whathe's doing on the pokies, has literally pulled out 1000s already and has been blessed with some luck.

    One example is playing Lucky 88, put 1 of his 50s from a bundle after clearing the jackpot of about 1500 and was literally on his last $3 hit and gets a lucky feature, picks the 38x 88x game and rips out another $1200.
