Well give us Lillyman back then :p he has been shit over there, was better when he was at North Qld.

Are you serious? The product itself is abysmal, it's terrible to watch. If Gasnier, Davies and Chambers started playing darts would switch your allegiance from league to darts?

  3. Lukic L Popovic

    Wow, gasnier is so dense.

it actually isn't as bad as it used to be and i've said before that it only needs one or two rule changes to be a much better sport. also it isn't just 1 or 2 players they are signing they keep signing more and more each season. I'm not going to jump ship and stop following league tomorrow but if things don't change and League just continually lose super stars year after year then im eventually going to get fed up and walk. I actually follow Union already so it isn't like im changing sports it is just i would stop watching one altogether.

As if you'd turn your back on the game because a few players leave..

  6. Wilson SB Wilson

He's a Broncos supporter, what do you expect. They're the weakest going around.

  7. Black Toast Forever TG Bullpitt

Exactly right. For every Gasnier we lose, we get an Inglis. It all comes even in the end.

  8. Lukic L Popovic

The only problem is, it's not as though we poach an Inglis. We developed the Inglis, yet they poached our Gasnier.

What happens next season if we lose JT, Slater and Folau to Union? are you 100% confident the game can continually afford to lose young superstars? Broncos already have a team running around who are at a avg age of 21, how long before this is the same at every club? how long before we put up a Qld or NSW team of 25 years or younger?
The salary cap is ****ed and the game is becoming less enjoyable to watch, look how sloppy the football has been this year, do you think age and experience has anything to do with it? Something needs to be done about the Cap and imo it starts with the TV rights, obvious to me that half the reason the cap is so low is that the game is undersold, Union get more money from fox for their rights yet last season NYC had better rating then it, something doesn't add up.
Money needs to be pumped into League other wise it is just going to die a long painful death, how the super 15 teams can fit $1mil players under the cap amazing me let along how can the clubs afford to pay the players.

and you're supporting a team that is part of the reason the game is so ****ed, you're the stupidest going around.

  11. morgieb MC Burridge

I want to see Inglis, JT, etc go to Union, if only so Queensland are ****ed. :p

  12. Lukic L Popovic

Actually only adds more to his claim. He's loyal for supporting a team that's so shit.

I wouldn't worry about the stars leaving, there's always going to be more, even in your example the Broncos have unearthed Gillett and McCullough, sure to be stars. I reckon we could lose 3 of the top 5 players every year and still kill it. I do agree that the cap needs be increased by a fair margin and of course we should see that with a better TV deal.

  14. Wilson SB Wilson

This. Most of you shit**** Broncos supporters would have jumped ship to another Queensland team by now because you're weak as ****.

  15. Ged GEC King

That's such a ****ing shit attitude, and it's the company line. the standard drops and thus a new 'superstar' comes through. The thing is, if the talent wasn't thinned so much, he wouldn't be a superstar of the game because the standard would be far higher.

with the salary cap the way it is it really makes me cringe to think the Broncos are paying so much for Folau and are still giving Lockyer so much money. I know Lockyer deserves the money for what he has done but the game doesn't allow for that any more, Broncos need Lockyer to retire ASAP, Lockyer retiring and becoming an assistant coach would be so ****ing epic.

if i had my way, Lockyer would retire, Folau would **** off and take Wallace with him. their money would then be spent on getting either Cronk or JT to the halves and bring Civo or Hannant back to lead the forward pack around, even spend the money on Inglis to play fullback.

Well fair enough, still though I think the standard of footy now compared to 10 years ago is far higher and yet ten years ago there wasn't as many greats heading to different codes and we had names like Johns, Fittler etc. running around in their prime, tells me there is great depth.

No way do I agree that the standard is higher than it was in 2000.

Andrew Johns, Brad Fittler, Danny Buderus etc etc.

Don't really think there's anyone near them (besides Smith) in this crop tbh.

Then you could look at some of the forwards like Webcke, Menzies, Tallis etc etc and I'd say the same thing again.
