Take note... appears it isn't just the fans. PANTHERS star point-scorer Michael "Flash" Gordon is expected to make a move to the centres for next season. The speedy goalkicker was a revelation for the Panthers when he filled in at fullback for the injured Lachlan Coote this season and coach Matthew Elliott does not want to lose Gordon's ability to break open opposition defensive lines by putting him back on the wing. Up-and-coming 21-year-old Sandor Earl, who scored one of the tries of the season in the Panthers' qualifying final loss to the Raiders this year, is understood to be the frontrunner to get a fulltime spot on the wing next to Gordon on the Panthers' right side. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...ers-heavy-burden/story-e6freye0-1225973566569 That means that the side is going to look something like: 1. Lachlan Coote 2. Sandor Earl 3. Michael Jennings 4. Michael Gordon 5. Adrian Purtell/Brad Tighe/Ryan Walker/Shane Elford/David Simmons 6. Arana Taumata 7. Luke Walsh 8. Tim Grant 9. Kevin Kingston 10. Petero Civoniceva 11. Trent Waterhouse 12. Michael Worrincy/Nathan Smith 13. Luke Lewis 14. Nafe Seluini/Masada Iosefa 15. Matthew Bell 16. Sam McKendry 17. Yileen Gordon/Daine Laurie/Joseph Paulo or any other player that goes good in pre-season and trials. The core of that side is the same as last year just with a few changes. I think the halves could potentially be better with Taumata there considering he has a lot more creativity than Burns. Backline is reasonably strong, that last wing spot though is wide open. Second row is a lot weaker this year as well and it will be interesting to see who gets that spot.
Got to start Smitdog and tell Waterhouse to pull his finger out. Even put Lewis second row and have Smitler at lock, still leaves it looking pretty good. Also I'm betting that we'll find Purtell as the bench back rower.
Poll on the Panthers site asking who will fill the vacant 2nd row spot. Yileen Gordon has polled 32%. Deadset Penrith fans are dumb ****s.
'Cribb he's a new signing, which means he's better than our current players, plus he's really looking forward to the challenge of earning his spot in a new side and loves training under Elliot. Once he has a full preseason under Carl Jennings and the Panthers trainers there's no telling what he could be. Panthers '11 Reeeeoowwww' Classic panthers forum response, sickening.
Gordon 33% smith 28% Lewis 16% Plum 12% Purtell 7% Not sure 4% Smith > Lewis > Not sure > Plum > retards.
Because they're assuming he's gonna be second row, while either Smith or Lewis could play lock with the other second row... dunno tbh; whole thing seems retarded. If you combine the Lewis and Smith votes, at least the back row of the obvious three is the preferred option, even if they aren't sure which one should be lock.
