Wouldn't you just play both you singles players? Assuming they are ranked the highest among the candidates
Usually it would be the case yeah, Hopefully in the future though, players can actually be a better doubles player than they would be a singles player etc. Will definitely get a lot more complicated over time. But at the moment just want to get through as much as possible.
That would be good if there is a difference between players abilities in singles and doubles. Makes it more realistic.

Nah you wont, max one or two. If you moved down every time you were knocked out early I wouldn't still be wherever the fuck I am tbh, I've been knocked out in the first round in practically every tourny.
The ranking system would all depend on players ranked lower than you and with this tournament having so many upsets is possible for a decent drop in rankings if you did shit, like me.
