****, all I'll say is that Babel doesn't get enough game time. He's a great player and Liverpool/Benitez/the fans heavily underrate him IMO.

    Completely AWTA.

Fabregas can dictate play, and has done so effectively, from a central midfield role. It doesn't necessarily have to be a defensive one. Fabregas has more attacking qualities than defensive ones, and IMO is wasted as a defensive midfielder. We really need someone strong to play a holding role, like Viera or Flamini (both are gone now anyway), that way Fabregas can still pull the strings, but not have to concentrate on so much defensive work off the ball.

It is similar to when Mascherano plays for Liverpool in the middle with Gerrard. It gives Gerrard room to do what he wants. The desicion to let Flamini go was a shocker, and the second worst desicion he ever made.

(The first was refusing to buy Didier Drogba when he was young for £100,000 when he played for Le Mans)

The worst decision he ever made was watching Kaka play as a 14 year old in Brazil and deciding not to bring him to the Arsenal youth academy. :p

    Some more recent transfer news/rumours:

    - Liverpool defender Daniel Agger could be on his way out of Anfield after snubbing a new four-year contract worth £10million.

    - At least six Middlesbrough players, including Stewart Downing, Gary O'Neill, Afonso Alvez, Tuncay Sanli and Julio Arca, are ready to leave the Riverside Stadium if the club are relegated from the Premier League.

    - Tottenham are set to make an £8m summer move for Marseille striker Djibril Cisse, who is currently on loan at Sunderland.

    - Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is also hoping to sign Chelsea's teenage midfielder Jack Cork for £2m.

    - Liverpool have held talks with the GMR group, billionaire owners of Indian Premier League cricket team Delhi Daredevils, that could lead to huge investment and an eventual buy-out.

    - Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is ready to sell the club for just £120m if they are relegated from the Premier League.

    - Roberto Mancini wants to succeed Mark Hughes as manager of Manchester City.

    - Portsmouth are desperate to sign Avram Grant as their manager.

Liverpool don't need Downing tbh, and he'd probably become a wasted bench player ffs. He'd be so good at a club like Spurs.

TBH Liverpool should focus on Tevez or a right-midfielder. David Villa would be such a good buy, and would love to see him at Liverpool. Aaron Lennon is an option to buy and would not cost loads. Another option thrown around is David Silva. Can play left or right.

VVVVVVVVVVVV - Not necessarily a defensive role, but deeper.

    But less tackling

Wenger didn't think Flamini would leave, at the end of the day I don't believe we should've compromised our entire wage structure just to account for 1 player who had been a bts and pieces player until inujuries let him into the team. The worse bit about that decision is that we didn't sign a replacement, not actually letting Flamini leave.

Missing out on Ronaldo because of Quieroz's links with Sporting was bad, but not actually a mistake as Utd had first refusal on pretty much all Sporting players. Missing our on Ribery was pretty bad as well.

The problem with liverpool paying out millions for another top striker is that it doesnt suit their system...they play with one striker and 2 holding midfielders... theyre better off investing in a cheaper decent back up.

I know I was making a joke about N'gog and how he was shit, hence why I left out the decent.....

    A good one :)

Thats been liverpools problem this year, Keane didnt shine, and Torres hasnt played much, Kuyt isnt an out and out striker and N'Gog is crap!

Had they had a semi decent backup who could score a goal every now and again I think Liverpool would have won the league this year.

Next year Newcastle will get relegated, and Owen will rejoin Liverpool and I can see them winning it.
