Yeah Campese would be a good choice too IMO. His defence in his only Origin was superb.

He forced his way back into first grade playing largely centre and lock in the NSW Cup too. I've always maintained he'd be an excellent centre.

  3. Julian BJ Taylor

He is just a brilliant niche defender. You never ever see him put a big hit on, his technique at times looks a bit iffy, but fmd he's a brilliant fringe defender.

    Kurt Gidley to centre. :ninja:

Stop picking random ****s in the Australian team before the play Origin FFS.

    FMD you shit ****s.

Williams, Morris, now Uate. And what have they done in Origin? Williams was utterly exposed. Morris did nothing and cracked under pressure numerous times. They score lots of tries thus we pick them to play in what ought to be the most exclusive RL team on the planet.

Hayne and Uate as Australian wingers. Are you ****ing joking? How many more times does Hayne need to be shown as a failed winger before he's recognised as such?

The Test series either needs to be moved back to the time fame it once occupied, shortly after Origin. Or the Origin series needs to be moved to the end of the year. That is the only way we will ever get back to rewarding players for performing at the highest level, under the most pressure.

But hey, what should we expect? These ****s gave Brett White and Josh Perry test jerseys.

It's why I don't support the tests. Until we start picking the right sides, I won't give a **** about the games.

Uate's in a different league to Williams and Morris tbf.

Though picking him ahead of Boyd etc would be a travesty... Although Folau will miss out. Makes for an interesting topic actually...what the Kangaroos three quarters should be. What do you reckon? Off the top of my head:

    2 ????
    3 Jamie Lyon/Willie Tonga
    4 Greg Inglis
    5 Darius Boyd

The ???? will be out of Hayne, Morris or someone like Uate tbh. With Folau out there is room for a NSW player. Hayne on the wing is a complete waste of time these days afaic.

    Slater
    Boyd
    Inglis
    Tonga
    Morris

    IMO

Wtf is that supposed to mean?

Secondly, Uate is no better than Morris, and apart from that he hasn't proven himself in Origin. So no, he's not in a different league at all. He's a flavour of the month player because he scores lots of tries and is good in attack. That does not a Test player make.

    1.Slater
    2.Boyd
    3.Tate
    4.Tonga
    5.Inglis

Hayne's utter inconsistency at club level, coupled with his massive failures as a rep winger should mean he is no where near the team.

  14. Julian BJ Taylor

It means they'll pick a NSW player in p[lace of Folau, rightly or wrongly.

Lyon > Tate. Don't care what Origin from 3 years ago bullshit you throw at me.

And Uate isn't flavour of the month from me. I've told the story a thousand times about seeing the **** at Henson Park in 2006 reserve grade and him being the best player on the field easily, only bloke close to him being Maubusson.

I said I wouldn't pick Uate for Australia so it's irrelevant anyway. He'd be my first picked NSW winger without a doubt next year though.

I'm sorry but Inglis is the best centre in the world regardless of how shit you think his defence is. Tate and Tonga = no. The best 2 centres in the game are Inglis and Lyon with Tonga a close 3rd. Morris or Hayne will be there on a wing. Boyd should be one winger though.

Fair enough. I thought you were saying it ought to be a NSWmen for that simple reason.

Tate is a better defender, is only slightly weaker in attack, and is proven in SOO and Test RL.

I can't use Tate's motm efforts when replacing the supposedly superior Hodges in SOO, because it was 3 years ago, but you can use reserve grade from 5 years ago?

    FMD.

He and Tonga would switch in attack ala my Origin team. He's not the best centre in the world in rep football.

    What a persuasive argument.

    At club level maybe.

It's hard to prove yourself in origin when you haven't played a game.

  19. Flash JP Thornton

I wouldn't put Uate in NSW just now even if he was allowed too. Sad to say considering I went to school with him, but I'd give him another year and a half.

Hence you don't get handed a Test jersey until you do. David Williams playing for Australia after 25 FG games is one of the most disgraceful things I have ever seen in RL, and the media and majority of fans couldn't care less or even praised it.

Makes me sick. It reduces the Test jersey to a cheap rag, and this from your former club coach who supposedly wanted to reinstall the passion and respect for the Kangaroo jumper.
