Will go to the Olympics with the Fijian 7s side.

I feel as if he wanted to quit but didn't want it to be framed as him quitting so decided to go the Rugby 7's route. With it being so late in the piece I'm tipping he'll come to the London 7's next week, have a few weeks of will he or won't he make it and be back in the NRL by late June.

  3. Cribbage RG Cribb

Nah he'll dominate Sevens, do the Olympics thing this year and come back to the NRL next year. Roosters I presume.

  4. Julian BJ Taylor

Yeah he will definitely dominate 7s. Good on him. Goes to the Olympics in his prime with a chance of gold.

id almost like him play proper rugby and be the greatest ever.

Hectic. Would much rather him tear up Rugby rather than come back and tear up for another team in the NRL, but then again if he actually plays for a good team he might get the recognition he always deserved.

What I don't want to see is him playing for fucking Easts

Interesting move. Ryan Girdler 2 weeks ago gave this rumour on Triple M and Paul Kent instantly shut him down saying it is impossible. I think there is little doubt he would've spent the NFL season on the practice squad. Also, I remember an article he was in a few months back about the toll those hits were taking on his brain.

I don't think he'll play for us though.

Everyone in Aus and NZ knows groups of guys who are 'Americool'. In NZ it's usually the dumb maoris who try to copy american culture, in Aus it's usually a group of white guys who are usually cool in school but dumb as fuck (like the maoris) so they try to be cooler than Aus by being Americool. They wear NBA singlets and talk about Lebron and the NFL even though they barely watch it. Jarryd just lost 2 years of his career thanks to this stupidity.

Apparently he could be made to wait for 6 months before he can play because of the drug screening process

Hayne must've bought the latest Rugby game on PS4 which is why he is switching codes again.

The amount I care about him playing for Fiji could be described on a panadol by two spastics with a crowbar

You guys are very optimistic. He has never played professional rugby in his life. You just have to look at how bad SBW has been at 7's to know you can't just come in and dominate. The fitness requirements in 7's are completely different to NFL, NRL or rugby union.

Yeah his body has completely transformed to align with the rigors of being a RB i.e. short explosive bursts. He would seriously need some time to re-adjust his proportions before even thinking about getting back into League or Union (particularly 7s).

Won't be surprised if he doesn't make the side. They are the best team in the world.

  15. Alec AD Funkotron

If he fails in this, what will his next dream be?

Opening the batting on Boxing Day, according to Sportsbet.

If he had have gone from league to this, I'd completely agree. But as it is he's completely changed his body composition for explosiveness over endurance. Sevens is next level endurance. On top of this, he has this weekend to impress and then the side is selected. I am extremely tempted to go along to Twickenham now though I must admit.

I'm sure Fiji gave him some guarantee to at least make the squad

I still think all you cunts are exaggerating rugby 7s. Yes he may struggle aerobically at the start, but what are the substitution rules? I'd have thought it was a bit of a free for all yeah? And he's been a pro athlete for 13 years or something, he'll be fucking fine.

Jarryd Hayne dominated the best 'rugby competition' in the world whenever he had the slightest bit of space. In Rugby 7s it will pretty much be a try whenever he gets the ball in a one on one situation with a defender. I've seen enough 7s over the past year to know there are plenty of athletes and not many world class footballers. He'll be absolutely dominant and I hope he wins a gold medal. People are quick to take the piss, but Hayne realised he's a phenomenal footy player and chased dreams that are unattainable to pretty much everyone else. tbf you've only got 10 years or so of prime.
