General 2010 predictions featuring Hughesy

    Well as the name suggests here is the place for everyone else's predictions who don't have their own thread. I am going to do one now and after that there will be a few day break but then I will fire a heap of them pretty quickly. NOTE: I will be using Julian's template. I will give it my best.

    Team: Newcastle Knights

    Predicted Finish: 5th

    Strengths: After a great Brian Smith era at the Knights, Newcastle has now some very strong defence after 2009. Newcastles strengths will defienetly be there defence. After some very tough attack from many NRL teams in 2009 the Knights kept them away from the line. With some players with attacking prowess with Mullen, Gidley and De Gois, this will certainly make the Knights a top 8 team.

    Weaknesses: The real weakness of the Knights in 2010 will be the inexperience of their new coach Rick Stone, while I think that they will still be top 8 contenders, I think that there may be some extra pressure on him to perform. The recent off-field dramas may also affect their chances especially after losing Danny Wicks.

    Key Player: Kurt Gidley and Jarrod Mullen. Kurt Gidley is the main man as he is all over the field during a match and plays best when playing for Newcastle. Mullen is pretty much up for rep selection with a good season and they are both great attackers.

    Breakout/Surprise Player: Pete (I only know his first name :king:) Knights supporters will know who I am talking about.

    I reckon we will finish about 10th-ish, a lot depends on who plays in the halves and who plays at prop.

    Mullen at half and Dureau at five-eighth is one of the most puzzling suggestions I've ever seen. It'd be like opening the batting with Marcus North and slotting Chris Rogers in at 6.
