Just play your role son, just play your role. Have faith in the skipper yeah

Hoping the batsman do their job so my performance is irrelevant.

  3. Luffers JRE Luffman

Perhaps some maturity over the situation wouldn't go amiss.

    Makes no odds really.

    Not quite there yet ;)

Pretty much what they said, your sort of unproven and you've got to start somewhere.
In the near future im sure you'll prove yourself though as a more than usefull number 7, maybe number 6, so dont worry yet.

I'm a batting allrounder, on my registration I put 4-7. 7 is still pushing it IMO.

Obviously can't justify me batting ahead of you yet. just any lower than 7 and you'll see a definite adverse effect on my performance.

    You're in the team...

  8. Baxter MJ Deane

Your own fault for not being good enough to bat at 8.

  9. Marto RK Fittaman

How is it my fault? I wish I could alter the sim but I cant.

My point is, you should be grateful you're in the team.

This could well go down as one of the stupidest arguements in Cricsim history.

God I hope simmage ain't tomorrow got rugby till 9!

Win/win situation for me. I fail I get proven right, I succeed and I succeed.

Still don't get why I'm behind Callum though, don't see it myself. Switch us around and you still have the same depth of batting. You still have the same 8 people in your top 8, just 2 of them are playing closer to positions they've been successful in.

Yeh, I know where youre coming from.

Maybe Luffers is putting you in at 8 to get you some experiance for when/if you do get that number 7 spot.
Im sure by the Jae Taylor, when you have more experiance and BS matches under you're belt, you will be there.

Would be curious to see if Rob or someone could possibly manage to get the GB's stats so far, so we can see if people are actually worthy of spots, instead of just going on BS performances.

I'd rather have you fail on my terms than on yours.

If I'd have relented just to appease you and then you proceeded to fail then it's my fault for not sticking to my guns. At least this way I've made a decision I'm happy with.

TBh if you fail it doesn't prove that you should be at 7 though. It's not like you bring a guy into the team and say " Well he failed at 8 but 7 is totally different", as it's not. It's still lower middle order.

Yeah, you've said that to me before but I suppose that's your fault for making the wrong decision in the first place :p. If I succeed at 8 who's to say that I wouldn't have done better at 7?
It's not just my performance though, Callum achieved all he has batting at 8, you've more to gain by keeping him there IMO.

Think lower middle order is a little bit generous for the number 8 position :p It's a nothing spot, might as well be tailend. Look at Test number 8s around the world, they can contribute with the bat but you'd wince if you saw the majority of them at 5/6 in a Test match. Where as 5/6 is my spot.

You won't actually bat any worse at 8 than you would at 7 - the only way it'll prove to be a bad move is it you run out of partners and have to either hit out, or end up not out, while Callum himself fails at 7. There's no actual technical difference between 7 and 8 the way there would be between 6 and opening for example - just a resource allocation difference.

Personally I actually think it's a 50/50 call. While you obviously have more "talent" with the bat, Callum's probably more likely to actually play a significant innings there at this stage. Batting you at seven would be in the best interests of the team long-term, balance wise, but having Callum at seven shows the urgency of the actual task at hand - it's not a trial game or a long season you can work your way through; it's a PC game and you've been plucked out of reserve grade.

I can see an argument either way. "I'm a batting allrounder" and "I put 4-7 down on my rego form" aren't things that really actually factor into representative selection though; only what you've actually down on the field.

As can I. I just think one argument is much stronger than the other.

I was running out of ammo.

    Where is Gooders nowadays?

I just think it's important that you actually try to argue the right points here. If you fail to score runs, it's certainly not because you were "out of position", lol. If Callum gets a duck and you end up stranded on 15* then you have a point, but otherwise it's crap.

Yo-yo's in and out of activity, not as active as he once was.
Still though, he must have a pretty beast GB average so dont expect him to be dropped any time soon :p
