A thread for people to recommend good doco's about whatever. Hired the documentary 'Food, inc.' last night, really enjoyed it. Some crazy things going on in the food production industry in the US that I had no major grasp of. Anyone got any really good ones worth watching? In the wake of the Boston bombings I was keen to watch some 9/11 ones. Been told 'zeitgeist' is pretty interesting as far as conspiracy theories go.
Have you watched the doco about the tsunami that hit SE Asia and Sri Lanka on youtube? It's pretty excellent.
I can't remember the name (think its called Imposter) and haven't sat down and watched it yet, but.the premise is some dude pretended to be some families abducted child, im guessing 15 years later.
the invisible war was pretty bloody interesting. keen to see searching for sugar man cos I'm a huge Rodriguez fan.
Cold Fact is one of the best album's of the 60's IMO. Glad to see Sixto getting the long overdue recognition he deserves.
Indeed. Watched this last night, thought it was good. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/95n9BclgBUM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The Food Inc. title rings a bell Is that the one which delves into the dodginess regarding meat in the US? I was watching an American Doco the other day and it showed their beef herds walking in a feet of excrement, being fed corn because it's cheaper, and then the meat gets treated/rinsed through by ammonia to kill anything prior to consumption. Also talked about a certain genetically modified soy bean iirc that is causing farmers to be unable to retain their seed as it's considered copyright infringemtn etc. I turoghly enjoyed watching it, if anyone knows the title of the doco i'm referring to should advise the name
