Do we want the Rossleigh Trophy to run this season?

Keeping the offseason as short as possible (while still giving you a break and time to do your improvements) would definitely be good. As you say it stops people leaving the site and it should also keep a bit of momentum in the competitions. Which may see more rivalries and such like develop again.

I think it would be good, even if it mainly just acts as a curtain raiser for the main series.

NZ have 3 of the top 4 best bowlers and they are all seamers, so no chance. :p

Yep. That's how I plan to run the match days.

    Day 1:
North Academy v South Academy (five day)
    North v South (one day)
    North v South (five day)

    Day 2:
North Academy v South Academy (five day)
    North v South (one day)
    North v South (five day)

    Day 3:
North Academy v South Academy (five day)
    North v South (one day)
    North v South (five day)

Unsure about whether to do an Academy OD series. Don't think I'll bother.

Good to see this on the agenda.

Well, exactly. And whilst SR might well be the clear #2 sim on here, it is still well behind (and rightly so) Cricsim, so having the two running at the same time does mean there's less interest in SR than there might otherwise be. Plus, it'd be a good idea to have other well organised sims to 'fill the gap' between Cricsim seasons. It just makes logical sense. In theory, Contract negs could all be happening in the two sims' respective offseasons which could work quite well.

It also might force me to quick sim more SR games. I'm pretty much doing them all "live" at the moment. I could rattle through games a lot more quickly if I just posted up results, of course.

Where does CPL fit into all this?

    Main reason why not?

Don't think there'd be too much interest so it might not be worth my time, and I don't think it'd do a lot to promote anything.

On the other hand, new members tend to be more interested in OD cricket than longer standing ones (Benny aside because he's so shit at FC cricket) so there might be some interest in it I guess.

I definitely think there'd be interest in it.. plus it's good from a continuity POV imo

The biggest thing with academy OD stuff would be the selection criteria IMO. If you used the current academy criteria but applied it to OD cricket then everyone would be eligible to play and it would literally just be a 2nd XI thing. If you just made it something like HP players only then there is a good chance it could be 2 fairly inactive XIs and that goes against what I think a big point of the OD stuff is.

Yeah I was thinking about that. I think I'd just make it the same as the FC criteria - i.e. base eligibility on BS cricket rather than HC cricket.

  13. Baxter MJ Deane

    I'd assumed that tbh

Let's see it in the off season I reckon. Can always change it down the track.

Haha we can't all be champions I guess.

I've got enough glory for the three of us.

This has been confirmed. It will be a seven round competition starting in Week L (May 7-13), which is the same week as Round 12 of the Bannerman Shield. There will be a semi-final between second and third at then a final between the minor premiers and the semi-final winners.

Won't even make this side on current form.
