Denouncement Mafia II: Game Thread

A bit less vanilla than the last Denouncement game.

The year is 1985, and the setting is the Warsaw Pact bloc of Eastern Europe. The Soviet Union is faring poorly economically. The citizens of much of the Eastern Bloc are suffering and after the short rules of Yuri Andropov and Konstantin Chernenko, a younger leader has taken the helm of the USSR - Mikhael Gorbachev.

A number of dissident factions have arisen in the East - most notably the Solidarity group in Poland, but the restlessness isn't confined to the Poles. Stories of dissident moles in the highest echelons of power have started to permeate throughout the consciousness of the citizenry. A little push could be all it takes to tip the bloc into revolution.

Gorbachev plans to halt that revolution.

Each day, the attendees at the party conference can vote to Denounce another attendee. If a majority denounces the same person then they will be taken away to the Lubyanka and tortured, executed or sent to the Gulags. Either way, they will no longer be any danger.

Between conferences, however, the Party leadership will be doing all that they can to take out dissidents. If at any point, the Leadership outnumbers the dissidents then the Leadership win. The dissidents have two ways of winning. Firstly, if all the leadership are denounced, then the dissidents win. Secondly, each night a dissident survives, then the country that they are located in will gain one unrest point. If any country reaches 10 unrest points then a revolution is sparked. If 3 or more countries gain 10 unrest points then the dissidents win.

    1. Denouncement votes must be bolded: e.g. Denounce Heef. Other variants such as kill or vote are not allowed. You must un-denounce before voting to denounce someone else.
    2. You must make at least one post every day unless you have a valid excuse. Failure to do so will result in a warning. Do it a second consecutive day and you will be mod-killed, and/or replaced.
    3. Party Conferences will last at least 48 hours. For a lynch, a member must reach >50% of the eligible members' lynch votes. If discussion continues past 48 hours then a time limit will be set in (usually an extra 12 hours) before the Party Conference is called to a close (those Soviets loved their long speeches)
    4. Nights will last until all night orders have been completed. You will be informed as to when night has begun.
    5. Do not speak about this game outside of the thread unless your role specifies that you may, or I have specifically said otherwise. Not following this will result in being mod-killed. Any outside communication, if your role does allow, must be kept in your specific QT.
    6. Do not quote anything from the moderator that is said outside of this thread such as role PM's or pretend to quote anything from the moderator.
    7. Please do not edit posts. Do not delete either.
    8. Once you are dead you may not post, unless otherwise specifically stated.
    9. Have fun and be respectful to your fellow players. Don't be a Skippos. - You will have one warning, any subsequent abuse of another player will see you modkilled.
    10. Night-talking is allowed, and encouraged.
    11. You may move locations at night. You are given a starting location in your PM. Moving locations may or may not be advantageous.

Just waiting on 3 guys who haven't been on in the last wee while. I'll see if I can chase them up off-site and get this show on the road. Still, not bad considering how dead the place is. I'm pleasantly surprised.

I think I've got all the orders now. Will work through the consequences and the night result will be out this afternoon NZ time, hopefully.
