    Good evening and welcome to the Bannerman Shield Player of the Season Awards for season 9 - proudly brought to you by the CricSim Herald.

    Each and every week, the CricSim Herald has been front and centre at every Bannerman Shield match. With unparrelled access to players along with some of the best reporters in the game, we have been able to take you closer than ever before to all the CricSim action.

    Over the course of the season, we have also awarded points to the three best players in each match. These points have been tallied up and tonight, the player with the most votes will be crowned the CricSim Herald’s Bannerman Shield Player of the Season.

    Tonight, we will re-cap each round and see which players impressed the judges. So make yourself comfortable as we take you all the way back to the beginning - Round 1 of the Bannerman Shield.

    ROUND 1

    Season 9 began amidst much excitement and anticipation as the competition not only welcomed a brand new team but it also entered a new age of scheduled matches allowing for bigger crowds and a more regular flow of games.

    Both of these things achieved immediate success with Brett Kennedy’s Gamblers securing an eight wicket victory.

    Meanwhile the Vipers also started their season with a win. Little did they know it was to be the beginning of a seven match winning streak that would propel them to the minor premiership.

    Round 2

    The Stingrays premiership defence continued on in round 2 with the ‘Rays notching up a solid victory over the Sticky Wickets.

    However the Gamblers perfect start turned sour as they fell at the hands of the Ravens, despite a ten wicket haul by TG Bullpitt.
