How should contracts be determined?

1. Contracts should be completely as they are in real life

2. Contract lengths should be as they are in real life, but salary determined based on draft pick

3. Salaries should be determined by draft pick, and contract length randomised

1. Mousey AJ Son

Jabba = fkn dog
2. Hunter AD Hunt

3. Escath LE Schaw

Rikkomas was up nine and a half hours ago and has been on since.
Eggman should be up.
4. Eggman DA Eggman

Gonna work the FAs
5. Hunter AD Hunt

Solid pick that.
6. Escath LE Schaw

Pass is a bit overrated. He has been on the decline for a number of seasons now.
7. Mousey AJ Son

Looking to swap Mike Dunleavy, Manu Ginobili or Kobe for a decent back up big if anyone is interested. I have $3M in cap room.
8. Escath LE Schaw

Spreadsheet updated with everyone's picks.
9. Rego RS Hutchinson

Dunleavy for Hawes? :ninja:
10. Escath LE Schaw

Do non-pick trades ever work out in CPL anything? :p
11. Rikkomas QG Goldenhaus

Shit didn't know I was up

Let me check if there is anybody worthy left

Escath can have an extra scout (now 5).

Number 11 up, and then post-draft free agency can begin.

What's being used to Sim this BTW?
15. Eds E Ames

Depends how impatient people are I guess. I've got a basis of a pretty good Excel-based sim which will make this really easy to run long-term. But it's not finished and won't be for a month or so.

guys I need some help from the more experienced BBSim players
How do you think I should setup my starting lineup?

Depth Chart:
PG: R. Jackson, M. Chalmers, C. Joseph
SG: K. Thompson, R. Hood, C. Joseph, M. Chalmers
SF: R. Covington, K. Thompson, AF Aminu, R. Hood
PF: P. Millsap, R. Covington, AF Aminu, M. Teletovic, C. Capela
C: J. Valanciunas, J. Lauvergne, C. Capela, M. Teletovic

Looks fairly solid. Couple of close ones for possible swaps in your depth chart, but no major issues.

Three largest contracts not picked up

Omer Asik, C
2015-16: $11.0 mil
Total Guaranteed: $44.0 mil
Last Team: New Orleans Pelicans
$11.0 mil per year for four years is a huge commitment for a player who most people wouldn't be willing to pay $11.0 for in a single season. Asik is a one-dimensional player. You bring him on to harass the opposition big and to secure boards for your team. You don't bring him on when you need to score points. With over a quarter of the 2015-16 season complete the big contract seems even less justified than before. Almost all of his stats are down this season on a per-36 minute basis compared to the previous season. Keep in mind that he is already 29 years old so things probably won't be improving much.

Outlook: Will be picked up on a one or two year contract at around $3 million a year.

Anderson Varejao, FC
2015-16: $9.5 mil
Total Guaranteed: $19.0 mil
Last Team: Cleveland Cavaliers
Varejao was at one time a solid if not amazing starting forward-centre. He was good because he is a physical player, but at 33 he just can't bring that same physicality. He is also very injury prone, having missed out on the majority of games in four of the last five seasons. This season his minutes have been cut significantly and his productivity has also been cut. He is now nothing more than a bench player. Bench players are not worth $9.5 million.

Outlook: Will probably be picked up for a couple of million for one year.

Jose Calderon, G
2015-16: $7.5 mil
Total Guaranteed: $15.0 mil
Last Team: New York Knicks
Calderon is now 34 and that was probably the biggest reason why nobody wanted to pick him up, especially as there is an abundance of point guards who provide similar value at a much lower salary with a lot more years to grow in the league. That said, he probably still has a place in the league. His 4.7 assist per game is nowhere near the 8.9 peak he contributed for a similar number of minutes earlier in his career but that is not where his value lies in the current league. No, he can't run the offence like he used to and no, he can't defend well at all. However, he is now more of a spot-up shooter who has a 3-point shooting career average of 0.411. With the importance of threes in today's league he will still be able to contribute.

Outlook: One year contract at around the $5 million mark.

Was going to do a few more players but didn't want everyone getting mad at me for revealing all of their FA targets :ninja:
20. Jabba HJ Bots

Dont think there is a heck of alot of game changing value, most minutes one of these free agents will see on a regular per game basis would be like 10
