Who would be keen? I'm thinking this would be far more interesting if there were actually a hope of it going long-term. The draft would likely be very different and we'd potentially have teams focusing on things other than just winning the championship. So if we can get good numbers I'm more than happy to run it.
Nah more thinking what sim you gunna use? And yeah you thinking fantasy draft or pick from existing franchises?
It's looking pretty likely I'll be able to knock something up in Excel; just a case of how detailed. This would be ideal as I can easily format it to work on lineups that are copied & pasted straight from the lineups thread. I was thinking fantasy draft, given there's already an NBA GM type thing going on. Should be pretty interesting to see how people prioritise potential vs. ability in a draft too.
Fucking hell Eds. I have a massive plan for a CPL BBall reboot (mousey to c), i was holding off because i wanted to wait until my uni semester was over (in a week).
Keen. Having this and GM going at the same time will be awesome. That and we're heading into the new NBA season.
So long as simming is easy to do quickly to ensure progression promptly like iridium has done with GM it should make it interesting imo
I was going to do it BasketballGM but use all the rosters they have and to a all time NBA CPL. And instead of Draft, auction.
So Eggman is cool with me running it on a new sim. & I reckon that's enough people for it to be worth it. Ideally we'd get to 16+. Sign ups: Location: Team Name: Logo: Location can be anywhere in the US or Canada, and you'll also get allocated a 'market size'. As I mentioned in the OP, the idea is for this to go on long-term and bigger market size = more attraction to players in free agency, easier to negotiate player contracts etc. But obviously everyone would just pick big market locations if that were the case so I'll give the smaller market teams more scouts (gives you a better idea on upcoming draft picks, and even when scouting current players); maybe they could even get a better chance in the draft lottery etc. too - there'll definitely be some decent rewards to going small market. Max. two teams in one city/location.. first come first served. Ideally not two teams from a small/medium market city either. If you're not sure where to pick, market size is roughly determined by these plus a few other things: http://www.stationindex.com/tv/tv-markets https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_urban_agglomerations_in_North_America Ideally don't pick a city + team name combo that is already in the NBA, but I guess we could allow old names. Don't be boring though. Use this for logos if you're struggling to find one: http://s78.photobucket.com/user/cephasjames/library/A Logos?sort=4&page=1
