    score a run?

I mean they have to be at the wicket in some form, presumably holding a bat. What if the ball hit the bat and squirted away somewhere awkward and the bloke at the other end ran down the pitch and if need be, threw the other bloke/rolled his coffin down the other end? does CPL have runners still?

    Leg byes don't count obv.

    Stop baiting me with Runako.

No a dead guy couldn't score a run. Dead people can't stand unaided or walk to the crease. He'd be given out due to time wasting. And being\ dead.

    Edge through slips for 4?

  4. Phlegm SP Phlegm

nah look, if they're in their coffin just roll the fucking thing/motorise it and get it in front of the stumps. call the coffin their "bat".

man that was dumb to miss this. too much coffin rolling theory.

It's the Oscar Pistorious debate all over again.

A dead guy would be timed out.

  9. Howe JHF Howe

There's at least one other dead cricketer who'd make these squads if they'd only retired.

what if they're a timeless player like bradman?

What about if they died in the crease holding a bat, and then opened the batting?

  12. Eds E Ames

Bradman is a must pick - no visible signs of decline upon retirement.

I'd assume that instead of playing on, the umpires may call drinks and a physio might notice he died.

Cribb can you get the injury sim to have a 0.01% chance of death?

  15. Howe JHF Howe

You're only as good as your last innings.

So he dies at the end of the previous game, standing up, holding the bat which is resting on the ground so he has a three point stance so he stays up. Rigor mortis means he doesn't let go of the bat.

Then the next game, the captains go out to toss, and he's still there, and the captain that names him in his time wins the toss and chooses to bat, selecting the dead guy to open the batting and face first.

Then he edges it for four off the first ball.

Would love someone to pick a dead person and play them in a trial match

  18. Cribbage RG Cribb

You're free to pick whoever you like, but given the amount of people who apply to be in this and miss out every season, not taking it at least somewhat seriously would not do your chances of keeping your team any good.

I'm not saying I would do that ftr, would just like to see what would happen

  20. Athlai JJD Heads

IRL a dead person would be timed out.

I guess in a sim they'd be forced to bat 11, and you would declare when 9 down instantly. And they would have 0s in every stat department to make it impossible for them to field and so forth.
