Mumford and Sons are bland as. Probably the best big band I saw this year was Mogwai. Smaller shows would have to be Full of Hell (that might have even been the back end of last year though).
Seeing Hollywood Heartache sometime towards the end of the year not because I want to, but because I have to because my band is opening for them. It just pisses me off because they only have like 2 original songs (which sound like Avril Lavigne b-sides) and the rest of the songs they play are covers (usually of Avril Lavigne songs) while my band actually has enough original songs written to be able to play a full set. They literally embody everything wrong with the music industry, IMO. I could go into detail about why they suck, but it would take too long to type out and it wouldn't be relevant to this thread.
So Downloads 3rd headliner: Rammstein. Basically 2013 again, only swapping half dead lemmy out, and bringing in half dead Ozzy. Might consdier a day ticket, just for Sabbath, but not the weekend - seen it all before...

Coldplay WERE good. Their first 2 albums are fucking amazing. Everything since then has been pathetic though.
DWTA. Their music hasn't changed much and there have been plenty of great songs and excellent albums since those first 2 imo.
Some of the songs on X&Y like Fix You and The Hardest Part are blinding tracks. Then you've got Sky Full Of Stars on Ghost Stories. To name a few. Have been listening to the new album and it's pretty farking good. And yeah those first two albums are brilliant.
The new album has good reviews but there's been so much rubbish plenty of fans won't bother. It's pretty much universally reviewed as: Parachutes: wonderful debut Rush of Blood: masterpiece X&Y: boring Viva la Vida: heading in the right direction, but boring evrything since: meh
