Depends on how many teams we have I guess.. but all suggestions welcome.

    Ideas :
    A) One league - each team plays each other once, team with most points win.
    B) As above but with a finals series between the top 3/4/6/8 teams.
    C) Multiple groups, each team plays one another twice with knockout competition between sides in top 2/3/4 of each the groups.
    D) Multiple groups, each team plays one another twice. Top half finishers of groups go into "Finals League" (Similar to Super8 stage of ODI WC) where teams play one another, team with most points win.
    E) As in D but small knockout competition, between top 3/4, at end of Finals League to decide winner.

I would be a fan of E or failing that D.

Especially if you are looking to bring up the number of team I don't think one league would be very good.

If you did go for multiple groups maybe spliting them geographically or something could work well? It could create more rivalry within groups, possibly increasing the interest in early matches.

Hmm, interesting idea. Chances are, the groups would be seeded from CPL1 final placings though.

    I'm a fan of D or B

I'd actually be keen for one big county championship style league. Looks like I'm on my own though.

County Championship is in 2 Divisions tbf :p
But with 16 teams in one league... that's a shit load of games.

    1) I'm an idiot. 2) It's late.

The fact that it takes so long to get organised means I'd be in favour of a full round robin. It does seem a bit silly to spend months on the draft/database and then knock over the comp in 8 games a side.

Nah. Two leagues of 10 is fine I reckon. Season 2 shouldn't take anywhere near as long to get started [he said somewhat sceptically].

    Cribb to C or D

Two leagues of 10 with teams playing each other twice could be a good compromise.

Nah these drafts take ****ing ages if we've got 20 ****s picking.

    380 games. Fml.

For this, the winner will be seeded first (obvz) runner up 2nd.. etc etc

But for teams that don't make the finals, as a final game I wouldn't mind simming 4th in Group A vs 4th in Group B etc.
These would help determine seedings for S2 (if they're to be used).
So the winner of 4th vs 4th would be seeded 7th and the loser 8th.

Competition format will depend on a few things. A 22 team round robin would drag majorly imo. There'd be so many dead rubbers and I really cbf to sim that many games if I have to.do everything as I am currently

    Suggest alternatives imo.

    Go American styles

conferences ftw. Let people choose there conferences.

    20 or 24 teams

    Into 4 conferences.

Top 2 from each go through to knockouts.

Would probably go 2 groups again tbf.7 games weren't enough imo.
Though could play home and away.

Playing every team once >>>> playing half the teams twice.

    Yeah. Awta tbh

If we go the split divisions.

Seeing as we have something to go off now I reckon relegation/promotion could work. Marcuss and Cribb to decide who goes in what division.

+All new teams start in div.2

    Creates some longevity.

Hmm. If we're going to have a split comp, which I oppose, I think divisions would work better than pools. I think Marcuss likes the pools though and it's his call.
