Because that's the actual name of the sport and with so many other football codes being discussed on the forum with this one arguably being the least popular on here it's only natural to put "Association Football" instead of just "Football" so people don't get confused. Could always change it to soccer if you guys prefer?

No, it is Association Football. Assocatiation Football, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Australian Rules Football, Gaelic Football, American Football et al. are all different codes of football.
Why isn't the subforum called Rugby League Football then? Thats the full name the same way Association Football is the full name for this sport
