Don't know if you mean me by this or not. I really do hate Hayne but I know he's a class player and I've never denied that so I'm not sure if you were referring to me or not.

nuh there's another one IIRC... mayb it wasn't on a break... can't remember it clearly, though I don't think he should have passed to Morris on that break (Morris should have ****ing taken it though, any NRL standard winger should have ffs)

Think it was more in reference to most of the people on the forum who bad Hayne week in week out and say he shouldn't be there.

    Hayne shouldn't be there.

Well done boys. Very lucky win.

Overall I thought we were really ordinary though. Our second half defence was not even borderline disgraceful - It was full blown disgraceful. Thurston and Inglis should be ashamed of themselves. Constantly dropping off tackles and not using the shoulder. Folau too.

The choices to kick when we were leading 13-12, namely chips and mid-field bombs was driving me towards a heart attack, no joke. Just unfathomable why you would try that garbage after just getting out of danger, so many times. When we finally got some field position, we were on top again. Kicking early in the count and surrendering cheap field position, grinds my gears like nothing else.

NSW weren't as good as what most seem to be opining, IMO. Their right side defence was still a shambles and the props were ordinary. They had some good points and looked willing but IMO, QLD invited them in continually.

Barrett, I thought was superb. He looked very dangerous running the ball and threw some nice passes. Bird was extremely grubby but still played really well in attack. As did Gidley.

lol at Morris yet again showing how unfair the Test selection system is - He's done absolutely nothing in SOO and yet has more Tests under his belt than Myles and Harrison.

Gallen of course must have been brilliant because he made heaps of metres and scored a try - The two most important aspects of a forward, right? I liked his knock on, on second tackle. I also liked his miss on Slater that handed QLD the lead back and then his miss on Shillington to get QLD in range to seal the victory. He's a garbage Origin player and people who still want him there simply because he makes metres shouldn't be taken seriously.

Watmough's goal line defence was also rubbish. No surprise Jennings did absolutely nothing, yet again.

The refereeing was laughable. The obvious favouritism for NSW was evident. 50/50's all going their way in the second half. Hold down after hold down, flop after flop, niggle after niggle. Hayne and Archer had absolutely no control over the ruck whatsoever.

Glad we got the whitewash but not really in the fashion I was hoping for. It certainly wasn't our best performance of the series.

Nah was referring to the people who just don't rate him as a player... mainly Priddo and some of the Broncos fans.

I still think Hayne shouldn't be there. He delivered 20 minutes of good footy this series. He only plays for himself, even more so than Ennis. NSW would be better with someone who tries his hardest for the entire 80, like Dugan/Coote.

    This.

The coaching staff almost lost that for us imo. Taking off Scott, Petero and Nate all at once midway through the first half was crazy. We were left with Cronk at lock (directly lead to the first try for NSW where Smith and Cronk got stuck defending next to each other under the posts) and Dave Taylor at prop. Hannant should definitely have been there over Dave and likewise Cronk should not have been used in that capacity.
imo, we won it up front. Matt Scott was brilliant in his first stint and Petero and Shillo performed well. Nate also helped out a lot up the middle.

On a completely seperate note, that refereeing display was attrocious. There was just no chance for a quick play the ball because the refs didn't blow penalties early on. It was a good effort by NSW but with two games in qld next year, they've got to be able to defend quick play the balls as well as the dour shit dished up tonight.

Name me 5 NSW players that have had more than 20 good minutes in the series.

    Could not agree more.

Though I would chiefly blame Smith for over-reading the play.

Slater's tackle on Watmough and Lockyer's 45m field goal (which I honestly thought was a punt kick over the dead ball line on the full) are two of them most amazing things I have ever seen in Origin.

  13. Ged GEC King

How many ****ing hits to the head did the Qld players take?
**** I was getting angry at the ref.

  14. Paddy P Orr

Did Cronk even really need to be in the side?

  15. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Agreed. Set after set and then they have the audacity to pull 4 out of their arses for NSW, for tackles that were carbon copies of about a million others during the match.

  16. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

I think tonight showed why I and others wanted Friend. We really could've used a defensive terrier in the second 40, when our blokes were continually dropping off.

  17. Ged GEC King

I seriously reckon that the refs were told to give NSW advantage so that it didn't turn out a drubbing. Ah well, NSW will be heartened by the performance and try to do it at Suncorp and get raped.

  18. Magic AJ Parker

He played a lot more first receiver than Barrett but yeh at the crucial moments like attacking kicks and when he felt they were on the ropes Barrett took control. Pearce just looked so rushed when Ennis was on the field... I don't know what it is with him but he was really slow getting it out of the ruck to his ball players/ball runners.

Enter Gidley and we looked so much more structured, the kickers had room, the ball players got early ball, the props were hitting the ball at speed and he was picking the right times to run. Did we even leave their half when Gidley was at hooker?

I hope a club picks Barrett up next season because he was really good tonight despite being really average at club level all season. Has he officially retired?

  19. Wilson SB Wilson

I think Gidley played well coming on into dummy half behind a pack that had good go forward.

Think Gallen needs to be given some sort of short rest in Origin. His workload was immense tonight but you could see by the end of the game with those two missed tackles he needed a breather. Him and Bird in the backrow is all sorts of win.

Not surprising when we actually match it with Queensland they're suddenly off their game and the refs are also at fault. You ****s are incredibly arrogant.

  20. Paddy P Orr

Thats what I mean, we had hooker and halves covered. Thought we couldve used an extra backrower.
And I dont really blame the refs, this was the best NSW have played for sometime, Queensland lifted a gear after Bird put that try on. In saying that they did look a bit tired most of the half through all that defending.
