Haha, was going to say how the fuck did I miss that.

Alec might have been confused because that's the way Brisbane seemed to be playing it for a while....re: try scorer kicks the conversion.

Obviously they were just handing it around to see if any one was going to be any good at it.

    Huge fail....

Agree not wanting to see place kicks. Either drop kicks or no kicks at goal for mine.

Well, I don't think anyone wanted conversions from place kicks. No conversions was what I was getting at.

Yeah, that would've been fair enough. I think I would've agreed pre-tournament, but in the end I think it worked well.

What is there to like about it? It isn't going to act as a deterrent against "negative football" (what a fatuous term), and is really just going to occasionally penalise blokes who are actually trying to keep the ball in play. That was evident in the 9's.

If they're trying to keep the ball in play but it goes dead anyway, then that's an error and should be punished.

If they're kicking it dead on purpose, well we need a deterrent for that IMO (I know you disagree but we've had that discussion before).

:confused1: You really think failing to pull it up in the in-goal from 45m out is comparable to dropping the ball cold on a hit-up?
