Anybody got an idea how a team would structure positions?

  3. Julian BJ Taylor

wing, centre, forward, half/ball playing backrower, hooker, fullback/half, forward, centre, winger

    IMO

I reckon 2nd row will take the place of front. Lock and a half will be dropped. Larger centres will be picked as fill in forwards.

    Who's gonna go to this?

  6. 99* JJ Ritchie

    I probably will.

  7. Colesy BL Hornby

I'm thinking of flying over for it.

  8. Julian BJ Taylor

I'd have thought you'd lose fullback, lock and front row.

  9. nadyone ND O'Dwyer

I would think that teams would drop 2 front rowers for 2 back rowers.

  10. Rocks DN Boland

Fullbacks are basically halves. I just said fullback because they will still be returning kicks.

I'm considering it, have been meaning to get over to NZ for ages.

  12. Colesy BL Hornby

    I'll go with you

Do they usually play with fullback in the Union Nines comps?

  15. Julian BJ Taylor

Most union shortened version footy is sevens and I'm pretty sure you don't have a fullback.

At first thought I reckon the Titans could be pretty strong in this (if they have some good under 20s). I reckon Albert Kelly, David Mead, Kevin Gordon, Brad Takaraingi and co would be all over this. Zillman would be pretty handy too.

  16. Andato BJT Manera

Panthers or Titans will be strong.

If Broncos have both Milford & Barba they'd have to be a big chance.

    Roosters should do ok;

Backs: RTS, Oldfield, Jennings, Reuben, Moga & SKD

Halves/dummy halves: Maloney, Pearce, Mortimer & Friend

Forwards: SBW, Guerra, Maubs & Evans

Can't say I really know what criteria would make a good team but if I had to guess I think

-physically gifted backs with speed to burn
-halves with strong passing games, decent running games and good support play
-Forwards with mobility and the versatility to be able to take hitups and run wide when needed.

In 7's you have a sweeper but no fullback.

It seems a strange draw with just 2 games each on the first day and having to play four games on the final day with short turnarounds.

I expect there to be a bit of a fullback in this, will be more kicking with the limited tackle count than in 7's.

Someone to sign William Ryder for it.
