Tend to agree. He played really well tonight though, tbf.

I was saying he was gonna carve up for the Cowboys because I had a feeling Henry would use him properly and get the best out of him. Just hasn't happened. But I can't comment on tonights game.

He came off the bench and made 120m from 15 runs in 43 minutes. Really impressive in a losing team.

Strange. I take the opposite position. I think he was terrible last year, partly due to his knee injury but partly due to a common, form slump.

I think he's been quite good up at the Cowboys.

  5. Sizzler WD Robinson

    gun team tbh

  6. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I blamed his shitness on his knee. No excuses for this year though.

  7. Lukic L Popovic

    4. Lawrence tbh.

lol nah, but he's proving that he's more than up to it. Dangerous with the ball in hand last night and solid as a rock in defence.

fmd. Mason? Maybe two years ago or in full flight but to pick him now would be strange.

Also never, ever accuse anyone of bias again with Scott and Mason on that bench. FMD. Shillington is simply ahead of Scott. Has been picked ahead of him and the first game he played at full fitness this year he dominated.

  9. Lukic L Popovic

    Bryce Gibbs tbh.

It's MF's personal opinion though re. Scott. And afaic, most people think that Scott is ahead of Shillington.

  11. Julian BJ Taylor

Besides the Australian and Qld selectors.

  12. Ged GEC King

Qld selectors prefer Scott, I'm almost certain. Anyway, using the argument that someone is preferred by selectors to rubbish a selection is silly imo.

  13. Alec AD Funkotron

I'd take Scott ahead of Shillington too, but there isn't much between them.

  14. Julian BJ Taylor

Shillington has played for Australia, end of.

  15. Alec AD Funkotron

    So has David Williams.

  16. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    And Glenn Stewart...

    Shillington > Scott, IMO.

  17. Lukic L Popovic

    Shillo > Scott.

As long as Lockyer isn't in the side I'll be happy.

Why? This is the sort of bloke who makes 130m off the bench for NSW and either gets bagged or not mentioned at all because of a loss.

Are you actually using the opinion of the same people who picked Brett White for test RL? Please.

    Shillington's defence is crap.

Two FMD's in one post. What, are you a necrophiliac or something?:pokey:...

Scott's a lot better than Shillington IMO. He's one of the most under-rated players in the game.

    2009 as starting props
    Scott - 133m per game @ 8.54m per run, 17.4 tackles per game @ 87% efficiency
    Shillo - 120m per game @ 7.56m per run, 18.0 tackles per game @ 89% efficiency

Shillington's runs made less impact than pretty much every prop in the game last year. He tackles okay but anything below 90 for someone defends up the middle is nothing to write home about as a defensively-orientated player. Scott, on the other hand, really stepped up his game from about Round 6 onwards. I'm a big fan.
