If it means Tate playing for QLD, I'm not too unhappy about it at all tbh. Now we just need Tonga to play like an arsehole for Parramatta. Either that or Hodges to get injured (which would be much more preferable.) 3.Tate 4.Tonga >>>>>>>>>>>> 3.Hodges 4.Inglis 3.Hodges 4.Tate
Agree with Boob here, Hodges and Inglis always step it up when they play for Queensland. Admittedly Tonga and Tate have too when selected but I would be curious to see what qualifies your opinion of them being a better centre pairing?
Hodges always steps up for Origin? What qualifies that opinion cause it doesnt bear resemblance to what I've been watching for 10 years. Ideally I want Tate and Inglis as they offer the best balance of attack and defence.
You're probably going to pull out some stats and rape my opinion, but I think Hodges is an "Origin" player. He's always aggressive and assertive and (apart from that nightmare at the start of his career) I don't think he's ever not had an impact in the game that's positive for Queensland. He might not be the best stats-wise player if that's what you're getting at but I think he has a large part in inspiring the team, especially the outside backs.
I think MF will go for the YouTube clips of Hodges infamously gifting 2 tries to the Blues by throwing dodgy passes in-goal tbh.
Hodges, a game or two aside, has been abysmally bad in Origin. You may think his mentality is suited to it or whatever but he's been really bad for Queensland the majority of the time.
Must admit I'm a bit disappointed that you think I'd resort to that. It was 10 years ago. I was willing to give him another chance. But as EWS said, over the years he's been terrible apart from a game or two.
